Arnold Culler walks through the Lobby of the Monte Cristo Hotel. He had done so before, but as a visitor. Now as he looked around he let the thought linger that everything he saw now belonged to him. He had recently finalized the purchase of the property and had set right to work setting things the way that he wanted them.

He had decided on the new name: The Sundown Sacramento Hotel. He liked it, for a few reasons. Besides the obviou, there would be no more of this Alexander Dumas name scheme nonsense, for one thing, and it also made him wonder if guests would think that there was more than one Sundown Hotel.

Through Gary he had hired a decorator who had done the hotel up to his specifications. The carpeting in the halls would be a pleasant pattern of gold and garnet, and the curtains would be gold. The rooms were decorated in more neutral colors, so as to not be oppressive, but pleasing to the eye. Arnold ensured that the curtains on the rooms be made especially heavy.

In the lobby he installed hard wood flooring and a new reception desk, revamping the hotel's computer system to be more consistent with today's standards and having electronic locks installed on all the doors.

He also installed a new bar in the Hotel Lounge, allowing Gary to oversee much of the design, as he would be running the bar for him.

He had paid close attention to the ball-room, in hopes that Kine organizations might hire it out. He also considered that some Kindred may wish to rent it for Court or Clan and Covenant meetings.

He smiled to himself, considering favors he might ask of these Kindred.

Arnold also set aside, for himself, a decently sized apartment on the top floor of the building - restricted to normal guest access unless they possessed a card key to be swiped in the elevator or at the stairwell access door.

The apartment was decorated for him in beautiful black and gold carpeting, with velvety black curtains trimmed in gold. Dark wood furniture with black upholstery furnishes the room. The walls are painted a pleasing shade of beige.

On the first floor he had a modest office furnished. Large sturdy desk, polished wood coatrack, a desktop computer, and a television in the corner.

He looks around at all this, and he can't help but smile at what he's done. Sure, he was going to be paying for this purchase for quite some time, but in the end it would be worth it. He was sure of that.
