Once through the Gate, the path wasn’t as easy to discern yet which way they may have went. It’s balmy and generally pleasant in the Hedge right now. And at the moment, there didn’t seem to be anyone in sight. The path was hard and packed rock. There may be a small clue around somewhere.
As Ramona may have seen something drug in the thorny weeds along the side of the path.

As they made their way into the Thorns, Lynn reached out and plucked a thorn from the branches surrounding them. She took a step to the side to avoid anybody who'd be coming after them and drove the thorn into the flesh of her arm. Holding it out, she watched a single ruby red drop fall to the ground as the vines surrounding them rustled.
Pursing her lips, Lynn started whistling an old, old Irish tune, the Wayfaring Stranger.

Head tilted to the side, Lynn listened, but finally shook her head. "I can't tell anything about the local area. It's not speaking to me."

Dexterity"And mine eyes spot no clues," Coco reported with a grumble as she cast her gaze about, methodically searching (and missing) whatever traces of the kidnappers passage might remain.

Machete in hand, Milo looked around. Slowly his head bobbed from side to side as Lynn began to whistle, but he stopped himself when he realized what was happening.
"You might not want to do that for long." The Fool said to the Emissary. "You never know who might be listening down the road."
His eyes scanned the surroundings, but came up empty. Evidently sending away the trackers wouldn't be an issue, as they didn't seem to be able to make much progress from the gate without them.

OOC: ApologiesOn the other side of the Gate, Ramona looks like she is already prepared for battle. Shield and axe up, both maneuvered with ease that speaks of practical experience. She scans the area around them, ever seeking threats, and pauses when something triggers her awareness. She makes a gesture with her axe, down towards the weeds where something was drug. "There."
And perhaps someone was listening, as they could all hear footsteps coming from somewhere. They were slow, meandering and nonchalant if footsteps could be such a thing. Maybe they were there before, but probably more predominant now considering what just happened. The direction they came from wasn't apparent just yet.
Regardless, Ramona had found a lead on a path. If they were to look beyond the trees that shaded the walk, they would see trickles of smoke in the air.

DexteritySeeing as how her other companions were brandishing weapons, someone she was sworn to protect had to all evidence been kidnapped, and that there was now someone approaching, Coco drew her own sword from inside its disguised sheath, the naked blade feeling oh so natural in the open air.
"Come," she pronounced with quiet insistence, her face grave. "We have a trail to follow. But beware the whoever this stranger is. They likely mean us harm."
With that, she began to stalk forward, following the trail Ramona had pointed out. Later, if they all still drew breath, she would congratulate the ogress for having found this all important clue.

Head up and all senses alert, Lynn followed quietly in Coco's wake. The only person without a visible weapon, if worse came to worse, she'd hide off to the side before drawing her fiddle out.

At Coco's behest Milo did follow, but not before throwing up what was clearly the shadow's favorite contract. Darkness folded over him, and while he wasn't hiding yet, he most certainly wanted to be ready if the machete proved ineffectual against the kidnapper. He hoped it would be effective, but the Lurker knew his talents lied in lurking not fighting and a tool could only do so much in a novice's hand.

"Stay close," she says aside to Milo and Lynn. Armed they may be, but they're not categorized as combatants, at least in Ramona's head. And the last thing they need is to get separated in the Hedge. Hopefully, they know that. She advances with Coco, alongside her if possible, just a step behind. On left, where Ramona can reach out and shield the Wasp if necessary, as well as herself. Guarding the flank.
