(Sunstone) Red/Green Majesty

Time marches on. Paranoia and anger is left to stew and fester. While on the road, Avis' spells dissipate into the ether, nothing lasts forever. While that is true, some things whisper at ages that span eons. An implicit promise that the lives of People, not just Awakened, are simply another ring in a trunk of a tree.

Each trunk stretches towards the sky, strong and majestic as rich reds and vibrant greens co-mingle with one another.

From afar, the size and scope of the forest is misleading but up-close, after the first car-tunnel carved into the trunk of a tree, these notions are disabused. The air is crisp and clean and filled with green and soil.

Referring to the folder, are instructions to See and to look for the Signs to point them in the right direction.

When Avis felt the ward fall away, collapsing under its own power, the Warlock spared a moment to frown before she built another Ward around their package, one that should survive the rest of the trip. It wasn't as strong as the first, but vigilance would bolster whatever weakness her spell might have. Besides, if the enemy's plans did hinge upon the apportion of the artifact, Avis was fairly certain they would have attempted it by now.

It's a good thing We're a couple, otherwise the Angel's leaning forward to crane a spindly neck around to look through and up the front windows would be Really Inappropriately in Avis' Personal Space. That hand's just for balance. No, really, it is.

"I heard that had, what were the called, 'Canopy Tours'. We should do that. Like, for real, after we dump this off and before we leave? Why not, you know, as long as we're here. I bet it's awesome. Also, I'm totally wondering how cool a Tree House would be. Like a legit one, way up there. We could totally scope it out, on the Tour. Like, if it's doable. And how awesome it might be. Or might not, but I'm pretty sure it would be. As long as there are, uh, harnesses. They've got to have harnesses, right?"

Pfffft. Angels aren't scared of heights.

"Or maybe parachutes? Just, you know, in case."

The car ride had been awkward enough before the stop. Now it was only worse. Luckily July was still driving and as such could just focus on staying on course. "Were there any directions once we got here? Like where we need to go from here?" You can only drive under so many trees before you start to worry if you're going the wrong way. Trees don't make for very wide roads, or easy turnarounds.

Sometimes he wondered how Star was the way he was. He knew the man wasn't oblivious or naive. Star had on several occasions revealed he was very much paying attention when you least expected it. But even though things were already tense, there was already a fight, and the group was wandering into the unknown, the Obrimos was able to focus on 'canopy tours'. It was kind of astounding, even if July thought it was a little insane.

Once they got to the forest Emrys, like Star, took a growing interest in the redwoods. Ancient trees and their native inhabitants painted a stark contrast to the jungle of concrete and glass they had driven from and the barren highways they had been on. When Avis threw up her new spells, Emrys assumed one was a sight and turned his attention away from the front window and out through the teardrop on the edge of the wizards staff. He doubted very much he'd get to see something like this again before his unlikely hypothetical future departure from Sacramento. And then someone suggested rising into the canopy...

"I'm game." He called up to the Theurgist with a smile most of the cabal probably hadn't seen before. Life sight up that had to be a must see. For now though July's question brought his attention back to the van. Having had hours to look over the folder and the memory not to need to double check he just looked up to the sentinel.

"We're going the right way. Once we're close the people with sights will see signs to point us in the right direction."

"Hey guess people weren't bullshitting about these trees." If there was a window Arthur could reach and shove his head out of he would. Instead his neck bends as he looks up and up and up. Damn that's tall.

"I'm down for Canopy stuff once we drop off the goods." Because fear is part of the Lie. The thoughts roll for a moment before Arthur pulls himself away from the trees and looks at Emyrs. "That packet say if there's rules for talking with these people?"

What was said at the rest stop had been laid to rest. There were other things to focus on. As they rolled into the forest, Ermac surveyed the area with an apparent interest. "It said we had to See and look for Signs."

Light. Sound. Heat. Cold. All of this carries the energies of creation, untapped, and flow around the pair of Theurgists as they open their eyes to the frantic flow. Even on the ground, dwarfed by the trees, they know the Truth that they are part of that raging torrent.

Each movement they take, changes the size and scope of the conflicting and coalescing powers that set around them.

Now that they can See the pair of them will have to Look.

Arthur ( Kelreth ) / Ermac ( ErlangShen ) give me a Wits + Investigation roll and don't forget to describe such. Once Cayce submits her additions, I'll write another response.

The primal forces of the cosmos were visible to his damaged eyes. Every type of energy had a specific signature. Wave lengths elongated into radio transmissions or compressed until they became highly radioactive beams.

One just had to be knowledgeable enough to know what signature to look for.
