Chris closes his eyes and tries to summon the instinct to speak in his true dialect, the one that he's only found the power to use on rare occasions but is his native language none the less. <<Hello. Bird..We..Friend? Have. You. See. Van...Long?>> he searches for the way to ask the bird if it knew anything about the vans, from where it was perched it may have seen the drivers come and go, perhaps if he could get the spirit talking maybe they could determine if it was willing to be of assistance.

Sometimes it takes the dull witted Irraka a long time to realise his mistakes. This was one of those times. Prompted by the growled vowels of the First Tongue washing over him, Aeneas' jaw snapped shut and his eyes grew wide, then narrowed. He stole a look at Chris and recalled his Auspice brands, even if he couldn't see them manifested at that moment.
Ithaeur. Spirit speaker.
"Haw!" he muttered.
The Irraka stepped to one side side, so that Chris could make his move unhindered. Aeneas quick narrowed eyes stole a glance across the car park, suddenly aware of the herd.

Spook them, Bridger asked him as he heard the bird speak, but it was too late to stop. Instead of turning to talk to the bird he grabbed the rear door to the van and tried to open it. Maybe he could interrogate the passengers or something.

The door remains stubbornly locked. No immediate response from inside. Though maybe if Bridger were bigger and stronger, he could rip the door off of its hinges.

Bridger gritted his teeth as he realized he wasn't strong enough...yet. But before upgrading himself he decided to look around for any of the herd first. He did take an oath after all.

A dozen cars sit in the lot, and many cars are passing by every minute. Bridger doesn't see anyone taking special notice of them loitering. There are a group of three men off at the edge of the strip mall, being very mysterious about what they are doing in the shadow of the building, huddled together.
Fuck it, he thought. Calling on the essence to add in his transition he switched into his near-human form. No need to go full war-form for a van, especially in public. What he did decide to do though was use all his might, calling upon his brute nature to attack the door with everything he had.
-1 essence to shift into Dalu form. He's just attacking the door directly to rip it open.

From the birds vulgar response it was clear that it had no intention on being cooperative. No matter, his packmate Bridger had already taken it upon himself to partially shift and pull the door clear off its hinges. In that moment it finally occurred to him that someone, anyone, could be watching and that if they were discovered it would mean big trouble. Chris reaches up and smacks his own forehead as he paces a full circle to let out some of the frustration, Bridger had just snapped a metalic door off its hindge and he was just standing there growling at a bird that humans might not even be able to see. What a freak show! he thought. Hopefully the guys they were looking for would be inside or else the whole plan on placing a tracking device on them would be wasted, naturally they should know somethings up when they come back to find their vans door torn off.
But the bird had mentioned not scaring them off, which meant that clearly someone was inside the van, acting on faith Chris immediately breaks himself out of his self imposed panic attack and places his right palm firmly against the vans back tire eyes closed he whispers to himself,"Please...please work...please....work.." quick silver bands surface for a moment as he concentrates on disrupting the flow of spiritual energy that circulated throughout the wheels in a forward spinning motion. He wasn't entirely sure if this would even be possible, but he had learned from the pack that had found him that he did possess the ability to cause malfunctions in herd made objects, perhaps keeping this one wheel from spinning would be enough to hinder the vans movements in case they tried to make a break for it.
