Konrad nods gravely to Josephine with his understanding. It is the thought that counts sometimes. He sees her as a woman fully committed to her task and fully prepared for any eventuality. She plans to meet her death the same way as the example she gave to him when they began speaking months ago. He wonders if she can maintain that conviction to the very end.
With the Prince and Duchess's arrival, Konrad turns to display his respect in a simple bow, retreating a few steps to allow the two Lords to speak across the room. He notes Marco now as the Kindred gives his reply. A final gift to the Movement? He probably left all his belongings at his Haven, useless to those without knowledge of its location. A final snub, perhaps, from a prideful creature. Marco had never once contacted Konrad after the challenge and seemed unwilling to include his fellow Covenant member of any preparations.
And now all there is left to do is wait and witness. Softly he mutters, "'No judgment awaits you, for you have already been judged.'" And then he moves away from the challenger and the cage to what he hopes to be a safe location.
