(2015 AU) Autumn Coronation

The Mountain spoke and Duke gave Green an up-and-down, devoid of judgement but clearly showing that Duke wasn't used to dealing with tall or large people. The crisp air around the other lost also gave away the presence of winter. Up North, that usually meant trouble for him but to assume the same here would be foolish. Still, no matter how much Duke tried to control it he felt his own mantle heat up against the cold.

"Thank you. That's very kind." The machine said before turning towards the hearth and then giving the skewer on the table a longing stare. Then, abandoning his reservations, he grabbed a kebab and put it to roast on the fire.

Turning back to Green, Duke cleared his throat, more out of anxiety then else, and then spoke, "It's nice to meet you. I must say that I have never been to a Coronation like this one. Are things normally this... casual in Sacramento?"

Tally nods and then a summons sounds. "See you later then." She says to Morgan before she departs.

"I'll be back." She says to Green and Gregory. Then seeing someone new approaches, she waits and greets them. "Hi, I'm Tally. Nice to met you."

"Please excuse me, I wish to go get a drink." She says to the three and slips off to get herself a mug of apple cider.

"Yeah." Green let the word drag out on his lips. "Uh. Yeah. They generally like this. Simple feast. The Sovereign turns up. Oaths are laid. The feast moves around though. You never quite know where the next one will be."

He took a bite from his kabob, munched slowly, and let his attention be diverted by Tally as she slipped away.

"Why? What did you expect?" He wiped his lips on his sleeve. "Name's Green, by the way. This here is Gregory. You're..." The Elemental let the question hang in the pleasantly warmed air.

The Witch enters through the backdoor of Edna’s to the party at hand. Her appearance was as usual, her mantle high with the bitter winds at her back. She eyes Terri Nutkins , recently returning and slinks off to the side to for her duty now as the Seasonal Queen. As Brother Lucas had said, they would fade, but continue to be there, he was correct.

At least now if someone didn’t swear their oath for the Season, there were others to chase them down and do the bidding of the Freehold. Unless all hell broke loose once again, the smallest of a hidden smile on her face was non-verbal approval of the new Council.

The green skinned man trudges in taking in a deep breath of autumn air. He could taste the smells on his tongue. Feel the beating of the October sun down on the back of his head.

The Wasp laughed over her mug of cider, the drink sloshing perilously as her body shook with mirth.

Ah, what a silly little man! "I will promise you fear and sorrow!" he'd said. Ah, what a fool! As if he could do anything to one like her! Did he not know that she'd already drunk deeply of sorrow? Did he not know that she slew fear?

It was so ridiculous she had to laugh.

Green's voice buzzed as he mused quietly to himself. After he finished his kabob he surveyed the gathering. Seeing yet another unfamiliar face, he beckoned them with a single jerk of his massive hand.

The Scrivener's eyes skimmed the crowd, picking up yet another new face. When it rained it poured, she supposed, but Sacramento had been getting particularly dry; it helped that none of them were especially large or fearsome, too. If a quartet of burly Ogres had marched in, the gathering might look a little different.

With her pledge made and Evelynn off to meet more of the locals, she allowed herself a few moments for just herself, her cider, and a kabob.

(Un)Fortunately for the Scrivener of Autumn, she wasn't about to get much time alone with herself, her drink or her kabob. No. The petite Beast-ball of orange and red had just sworn her pledge to the Freehold once again and was in fine form. Spotting Ava on her own, Terri pretty much skipped across towards her, smiling with energy and excitement with every breath.

"Ava!" she cried, truly pleased to see the Nix. In truth, Terri had never really had a good connection with Ava, but wasn't that what second (or third) chances are for?

"How have you been? Isn't it great to be Fall again? Another year, gone but still we survive," she added, obviously still grinning.
