    Vampire eternal court scene:
    QuoteQuote:
moved to her usual spot, far enough away to not include herself in the current conversation. One would have to get permission to approach her...
Let's remember that we can re read scenes. The Prince is not near the group. Let's take care to read where people place their characters. If unsure, you can ask here before making your post.

I already asked this question elsewhere, I am just posting it here so it can be referenced later should the question come up again.

Would using a weapon that uses the brawl skill instead of the weaponry skill allow you to use a brawl based fighting style with it?

Ex. My character Connor has the Boxing fighting style, and also has a Katar Punch Blade (Push Dagger), which uses Strength+Brawl to attack.

Per the Boxing merit, all of its maneuvers say the specific words "when making a Brawl attack" as the qualifier for using the maneuvers.

I just figured I would ask the question to get a ruling because it was something I happened to notice and think of, and wondered what the ruling would be.

An attack roll determines if your character manages to strike and harm his intended target. The type of attack
he launches determines the dice pool that you roll, as follows.
    • Close Combat: Up close and personal, this includes
unarmed combat (Strength + Brawl) and melee (Strength + Weaponry). Unarmed combat includes something as raucous as a barroom fight or something as organized as a boxing match. Opposing characters use their bodies to fight and must be within reach of each other (one yard).
During melee, opponents use hand-held weapons, which
may include knives, broken bottles, tire irons, swords or
hastily snatched chairs. Maximum melee distance ranges
    rom one to two yards.

    p152 in nwod rulebook.

Then lets look at the actual mechanics of the special weapon.
    p 22 in Armory.
Katar Punch-Dagger: Katars are notable because
their horizontal grips allow the user to punch with them,
like brass knuckles with a blade jutting forward. The katar
blades are wide and taper to a quick point, and cause severe
damage when thrust against an unarmored body. Attacks
with a punch-dagger are done with Strength + Brawl rolls,
    Weapons Training-Weapons Catalog-Knives and Daggers22
    Chapter One- Melee Weaponry
eschewing use of the Weaponry Skill. Some characters
choose to wield two punch-daggers at one time; in this
    case, off-hand penalties still apply.
A more modern version of the katar is the “push
dagger,” an American-made knife whose blade sticks out
from between the knuckles. (Its ratings are equal to that
of the katar.) Rare versions of the katar exist (Cost •••),
however, that have one blade that actually splits into
two butterfly-like blades upon squeezing the grip tightly.
Assailants use this in a brutal manner: once the blade is
buried in another’s flesh, pulling the grip expands the
blades inside the victim. If one of these katars is used in
this way, the blade does continuous damage (provided
the victim does not pull away first with a Strength +
Brawl roll). This damage is done in the form of 2 lethal
regardless of Defense or armor. This damage is done
once while inside and a second time when the blade
is removed from the body (doing considerable harm as
    the blade exits).

I only got 1 success on my Obfuscate roll. I feel your pain. The dice roller is hating on us already!

Yes, I am hoping it will work next round...

Those in Jackal, go ahead and make perception rolls and include them in your posts, please.

Vampire writers: I want to point out something that I will also post to the Vampire ooc later. Telepathy works for the Vampire who has the Discipline. Book reference: Telepathy is most effective on the mortal mind. When used
on ordinary people, the character can maintain a link as long
as he keeps concentrating, and as long as the mortal target
does not leave his line of sight for more than moment or two.
Trying to breach the supernatural mind, however, is a more
difficult prospect. A given link is good only for the moment
and must be reestablished each time the character wishes to
    send or dig for thoughts.
Cost: None for a mortal; 1 Willpower for a supernatural
subject unless the supernatural subject is willing.

Hello. Sorry to bother but may i please have a ruling on what Bellemy should roll to determine if any of Jennifer and Connor's conversation was heard since we are all in the same place is it feasable that Bellemy overheard something while approaching?

I'm comfortable with Bellemy overhearing. The post reads like she walked in while someone was responding.
