Green noted Daniel's departure with a simple nod, a flicker of his chunky hand and the low rumble of his voice: "Be safe."

The words though, were lost in the sudden explosion of sound that burst and sang and broiled around him. The big Elemental winced, eyes narrowing like he were staring into a howling gale. He shifted pose, leaning forward with one foot braced, as if he were struggling against a titanic wind.

Thus posed he continued on his way, forming up the rear of the party. Great fists were clenched now, as if anticipating expecting an assault from the very walls.

"Well. That. Was. A. Good. Start." Words through clenched teeth spat into the air.

Green's attention is on the walls of the tunnel as he expects a hidden trap to spring, or a secret compartment to open. Also, please note he has Danger Sense merit.

Lynn winced, nearly falling backwards onto the treacherous walls once again as the noise nearly deafened her. Both hands were clamped to the side of her head in a desperate attempt to muffle the sound; luckily Ava and the Wasp managed to shut the beast up before she lost her hearing completely.

Leaving the animal to the two of them for the moment, Lynn turned her attention instead to the surrounding area. That was more than just an attack, it was a warning. The Sandman knew that they were here.

Coco would have to thank Ava for subduing the dog after she had dispatched it. Wretched creature that it was!

Knowing the danger of Coco's blade, the canine does it's best to dodge and weave, a few more barks braying from it's jaws, before the point slides into the beast's flesh. Barks turned to pained yelps and whines, and the dog retreats, quickly staggering off it's feet to curl on it's side, chest heaving as blood pours from it's throat. There are terrible noises. Wet gasps for air. Blood bubbling. The terrible canine whines. The minuscule light makes everything hard to see down here, but Green and Coco have caught a glimpse of something... strange. Any dog that size should've been able to do a big more, take a bit more punishment, and survived. This dog is... sickly. Thin. Mangy. Starving. And the reason soon becomes apparent. It must've been hard for this bulldog to eat with rubber teeth.

Yet they also spot light further up the tunnel. Faint flickers of it. And the echoes of shouting and muttering. And... is that the sound of liquid, moving? Pouring?

The dog is dead, and you are free to proceed.

Anyone making a Perception roll may notice this stuff too, now that the dog is dying, and no longer barking.

"And now things start to get interesting," Lynn murmured as she made her way up to the dog's pathetic body. "That was just the perimeter alarm." Walking along the path, she resisted the urge to take a step to the side and move into the shadows. There would be time for that later, hopefully. She did make sure to stay behind or near Coco and Malcom. It made no sense to bring muscle if she didn't allow them to assist.

Green shuffled forward. He did not look at the broken dog. Those teeth... No! Not the dog!

"Hey. Maybe we should get out of this tunnel, yeah. I'm feelin' kinda exposed here and all, yeah? Can you guys hear... liquid?" His voice remained a flat rumble as he outlined his misgivings. For the moment he remained calm and didn't simply walk over the Lost in front of him.

The coiled burn of anger seared in his gut; one meaty hand tightened into a fist.

Who could do that to a dog?

Rubber teeth? The horrible ridiculousness of that statement tugged at Coco's attention, even beyond the sting of Ava's recrimination. Walking over to the wretched things corpse, the wasp pried it's drooping dog lip off of its upper teeth, exposing the horror of what had become of the animal's mouth.

Now it became clear why the animal hadn't lunged after her first, distressingly clumsy thrust.

A strange emotion emerged from somewhere below Coco's heart, the sight of the mutilated animal seeming to birth squirming tentacles from her stomach.

For once, she had no reply, and instead just shot a vague nod to the wall across from her and then turned to lead the others deeper into the demented hollow...
