Harlow's Nightclub

So what did you wear to go dancing? The question ate at her mind as she looked through her clothes, which was mostly jeans and tank tops. From the internet page for the club, it didn’t seem to be very fancy, which narrowed down her choices. Of, like, three or four dresses. Her mother would roll over in her grave. Finally deciding on one, she fixed her hair and grabbed a pair of dressy kitten heels, higher than that and she’d probably hurt herself.

She park a few blocks away, and pushed the blood into her dead body, willing her heart to beat once more and her skin to be warm to the touch. She was already pale, but now it looked healthier and less ghastly.

As she approaches the club, she sees Juan and steels herself for the presence of his Beast. Sure enough, as she got close enough, her Beast recoiled in fear of the stronger Beast, pleading with her to run. Thankfully, her will was stronger and she puts a smile on her face.

“Buona sera.” Greets the Italian. Her dress for the night was black with a skirt that flared at the hips, sorta in a 50’s era style. It hit just below her knees and had sheer fabric at half length. Her hair was cut shorter and her makeup subdued.

“Don’t you look suave tonight.”

A girl never turns down a compliment, or so her mother taught her, “Grazie.” She replies as she accepts his offered hand. “Sounds good.” Agreed the Savage, following Juan’s lead.

She was sure there was a bad joke somewhere that began with a Daeva and a Gangrel go dancing. The thought made her smirk.

Eyes move around the room as they were lead further into the club. Seeing the dance floor actually made her a little nervous. Even though she was the predator among prey, she wasn’t ken on making a fool out of herself.

There was a moment of confusion until she realized he asked her a question, “Oh, looks like a great place! I haven’t actually been to many clubs since getting here, so it’s good to see one.” She replies with a smile. “You been here before?”

When he didn’t elaborate, she dropped the question. She wasn’t one to pry.

“I’ve always found it funny that no one wants to be the first, but have no trouble following once someone else steps up.” She says with a chuckle. “And it’s usually after a couple drinks.” People were funny like that.

“New?” time to play the game of being a Kine and the fun of veiled talk. She hated having to be careful about what she said, it was annoying. “Nothing all too exciting, I’m afraid. Been working on getting a network of contacts up and running, while training and refining my skills. This is the longest I’ve been in one location, so that is taking some getting used to.” She say with a laugh and shrug.

“So what about you?” there was obvious interest in the question.

There was a brief slow nod, “Ah, yeah, I met Gabrielle at our last party. Seemed nice enough, very well spoken. I hope to talk with her again soon, it’d be interesting to exchange traveling stories.” It was no secret that traveling across the sea was an interesting experience for their kind.

“I saw the other one, Diana, but didn’t get to talk with her. Have to admit, the hair is great, not many can pull off such vibrant colors, but she does it well.” She compliments. “A playwright?” to be honest, it surprised her. The woman didn’t strike her as a playwright, but then again, looks were deceiving. “I would never have guessed. Does she favor a particular style of play? It may not seem it, but I attend quite a few plays back in Italy. I would love to see what she creates!” she exclaimed with honesty.

“I don’t have as many new neighbors, only Tomas. He has some useful skills I hope to learn, and is eager to be helpful around town.”

A hand reaches up and tucks a strand of hair behind her ear as she listens. Having her hair shorter was weird for her, but she knew it would grow back tomorrow night. One of the joys of being undead, getting to play with various hair styles and whatnot.

“Think I should give Diana a call and meet up with her. I would love to hear about her inspirations for her plays and how she got into the field. And I have to agree, it is good to have her here, it seems to be a dying art unfortunately.” The world had changed so much since she was a Kine, in some ways it was sad to her.

Her eyes drifted to the blonde and she smirks, “So it seems.” She then leans across the table slightly, a hint of mischief in her eyes, “I only hope I don’t embarrass you with my lack of skills.” She says with a small laugh.

Leaning back, “He hasn’t been in the city long. His skills came in handy when we got lost in the woods,” she wasn’t sure if he was aware of the whole firework mess. “Was able to lead us to where we needed to be. Nice guy too, should talk with him of you see him.”
