(Shell Game) Meeting with Mike

A short way from the rustic strip - where the neon sign for Dave's bar usually lights the night - a stretch of apartments line the street. A few are built above shops and restaurants and most are closely packed together. The road usually isn't very busy, save for the mornings and late afternoons when the factory traffic jams things up. Mike's apartment building, from the front, looks like a cookie-cutter replica of half a dozen others like it on the street; each one of them a split level brick building with room with a long, narrow driveway wrapping around to the back. Some of the iron numbers marking addresses are missing, but the address Frank had given Gregory is, thankfully, easy to spot. Small favors.

Unfortunately, the purpose of the visit is less fortuitous. The smoking man from Dave's bar had been acting strange, according to the surly Frank, and Gregory had offered to check in on the man. If Mike had, indeed, fallen victim to the same fate as the other factory workers Frank mentioned, the Lost may be getting in over their heads.

Since Gregory is the one who had received the call, feel free to write up the time of day in which the visit is occurring.

[Gregory]

Gregory makes a call to the others, Nathan and Tally, regarding the information he's received from Frank and suggests they meet at the address he'd been given. Late afternoon, the sun is beginning to set in the western sky as shadows begin to elongate along the city streets.

The gray Gargoyle awaits outside the cookie cutter apartments for signs of his companions. He wears a beat up old suit and cap upon his head, hunched over with his hands behind his back. His eyes drift to the light haze that counted as a cloudline in the sky, the gradient of colors that hung there and became ever saturated.

On his person is the Utterbarb he claimed from the Hedge.

Tally arrives wearing casual cloths which consists of a orange hoodie, under it was a navy blue t-shirt, black jeans, runners, and her wolf pendent under the hoodie hidden from view. She also has her wallet and her pay as you go cell phone. She walks from the nearest bus stop to where Gregory mentioned the address.

It takes some minutes but she notices someone hunched near the apartment. She walks towards him, once close, she greets them with a simple, "Hey."

[Nathan Griffin]

He approaches the apartment complex wearing jeans, running shoes, and a grey t-shirt. He carries some goodies (mostly drinks) in a small backpack. He had added a little memento from an antique shop to his look, a black and white feather not unlike his own, hanging from a pendant around his neck. It was cliche, but for some reason he felt like showing some ethnic pride.

He sees Greg and Tally next to wall of an apartment building and waves their way.

"Hey," he says once he's closer. "How you guys doin'?"

[Gregory]

"Afternoon," replies Gregory to Tally first and then Nathan. Gregory waves them closer so that he might speak at a lower decibel. If other passerbys come to close that they might hear, Gregory waits until they pass before continuing.

"Frank called me. It seems the man from the bar, Mike, has been taken. It be as much as he described to us before. Their behavior has changed. I have told Frank that we will look in on Mike. Perhaps we will see what he cannot, a reason for this sudden strangeness."

Gregory pauses for questions from the others on what he intends for them all to do, or simple for their thoughts on the matter.

[Tally Benoit]

With a nod, Tally greets Nathan. "I wouldn't be overly surprised to find an evil twin in that apartment." She murmurs softly as her gaze sweeps the apartments within view.

"Just us three or are we waiting on another to join?" She asks after a few seconds, turning to look between Gregory and Nathan curiously.

"Well then, do you have the apartment number of Mike?" Tally asks Gregory as it looks like it will just be the three of them investigating this, looking at Gregory as she waits for him answer.

Hopefully, this won't be anything we can't handle. She muses to herself.

[Gregory]

"That I do. Let us head inside then, if the door be not barred."

Gregory begins walking to the front door to see what sort of entryway this apartment building had, if it required a code to enter and if there were an intercom system installed to ring its tenants. He pulls on the door experimentally to see if he could enter.

[Nathan Griffin]

He follows Gregory and helps him inspect the front of the building. He had never seen a fetch before, but he had been in his share of fights and even if he wasn't up to par, well, he was a bit of a daredevil these days. It was the others he was worried about, and thought he'd let them know.

"So. I hope it all goes smoothly, but how are you guys in a fight?"

He whispered it and looked around before saying it. He didn't want trouble.
