Walk of Shame

[Einstein]

The Sanctum door's slow creak almost made Einstein curse out loud. She'd never noticed before, but the damn thing made entirely too much noise when someone opened it. How had she never noticed before? The thing sounded like it'd need a whole can of WD-40 before it stopped making sound!

As she slipped through the door, as quietly as she could, the sound of the taxi leaving behind her brought the suspicion that she'd forgotten something important into her mind. She shook it off quickly. People always felt that way after they left a taxi, or a hotel. It was just the paranoid worry that they'd forgot something, because if they had, they probably wouldn't get it back.

The Obrimos slid across the hallways, pausing long enough to take a look at herself in the hall-mirror. She was a mess - her shirt was mussed up and the shoulder sliding off, her hair was sticking out wildly, and she definitely needed a shower. She hadn't wanted to trust the motel room shower, so she'd left without one. She was definitely going to grab one. But first, a drink. Einstein moved further down the hall, towards the kitchen.

[Truce]

The gentle sound of kitchenware tapping and the subtle movements of the soft-spoken Moros greet Einstein in her approach. A faucet, water, something made of glass being set down in a coffee maker. It is the familiar routine of Truce going about his morning preparations. Coffee instead of tea, a drink to alert his senses rather than calm them. While he doesn't seem fully awake himself, he is perhaps far more rested and better dressed than the shame-filled Obrimos. Perhaps he won't see her as she passes by?

[Einstein]

The Obrimos freezes in her tracks at the sound of someone in the kitchen. Almost afraid to breathe, lest it alert him, she peeks around the corner of the entrance, and sees him working the morning routine. Maybe he wouldn't notice. Her eyes alight on the cupboard with the glasses, and she briefly considers trying to grab one and fill it behind his back, then decides that there was another one in the bathroom, as far she could remember.

The Obrimos starts sidling her way across the entrance to the kitchen, stepping slowly so that the creaks of wood might not alert her cabalmate to anything amiss. Why had she been okay with a doorless kitchen? It would have been so much easier to sneak around with a door to close.

She is in luck! The Necromancer is too focused on the orderly ritual of coffee-making and toast-buttering to even think to turn at the creeping woman's passing. He remains unaware as she passes by him. But a chill begins to descend down Einstein's spine, the tingling of her unseen senses that something else might be watching her movements within the Sanctum. If it does, however, it has yet to show itself.

[Einstein]

Just barely suppressing a happy squeal, Einstein scampers down the hallway, once she's confident that Truce can't hear her moving - or might at least attribute it to something normal. She moves until she reaches the downstairs bathroom. It wasn't particularly big, about the size of a small walk-in closet, the door set unceremoniously in the wall in the middle of the hallway. Einstein hurriedly opened the door and moved in, turning on the shower and hopping in once it was hot enough.

She finished the shower quickly, then realized that her clothes were all in her bedroom. Wrapped in a long towel, reaching down to her knees, and another one on her hair, the Obrimos ventured back down the hallway, much less stealthy now that she had taken a relaxing shower.

[Truce]

Truce stops, a wedge of toast sticking halfway out of his mouth as he peers up, hearing the distant sound of water moving through the pipes in the walls of the building. It seems far too early for Crowley to get up out of bed. And Einstein had been absent last night, as far as he knew. Had she come in sometime in the middle of the night? His curiosity brings him to the foot of the stairs, but as one would expect it gave him no more answers than before.

He shrugs and finishes his toast and sips at his coffee. It isn't until he's finished washing dishes that he hears the water stop and sound of a door opening as well as footsteps. Truce returns to the landing, calling upstairs, "Is that you, Crowley?" he asks the open air.

[Einstein]

Einstein flattens herself against the wall at the sound of Truce's voice, holding her breath and then letting it out in a sudden burst when it became too much. She stood there for a few seconds, before she realized how silly of an idea this was. She was at home! Why was she trying to hide? She belonged here, as much as Truce did. Maybe even more.

Einstein moved on from the wall and slowly moved towards the stairs, still busy trying to convince herself as she walked. When she reached the distance within which she could talk without yelling, she spoke. "Nah, it's me. What's up?" She tried to sound nonchalant. She really tried.

Something is the matter, Truce could tell. There is something like guilt laced in her words, an effort as disguising it. "Ein? Is something the matter?" he asks as he begins to walk up the stairs. "I thought you were out last night. Did something happen?" His words offer concern though nothing like panic. It must not have been too serious if she were trying to play it off as nothing. Or maybe that meant it really was serious? It is hard to tell with Einstein. Her secretive nature as of late only made him more concerned for her late night activities.

His head rounds the top of the stairs to peer down the hall at where he thought he heard her speaking from.

[Einstein]

Einstein steps away from the wall and out into view, using her hands to make sure that the towel stayed up - she had never quite mastered the art of wrapping the towel right, so that it would stay up. "No, nothing's wrong, why? I stayed out late last night, just got back a few minutes ago." Not technically a lie, not really. It was the truth. She just skipped a few details. One of her hands freed itself long enough to scratch the bridge of her nose, and she shrugged, moving the towel a bit, which prompted a frantic movement of the free hand back to its position, before everything fell apart.

[Truce]

Seeing the precariously placed towel, Truce blinks wildly, twisting head head this way and that indecisively. "Oh, umm," he says, realizing she has yet to change into any real clothing. "I'm sorry. Right, well as long as you're okay." He ducks back down the stairs a few steps if only to give her some privacy.

"I'm just about to head to work in a few minutes. Just thought I'd check to see who was still here in case I needed to set the alarm," he explains, traces of embarrassment lingering in his voice.
