It went through phases.

First phase: study how the frenzying kindred moved and learn to counter. Treat like new lesson

Second phase: focus on ignoring the sounds

Third phase: grow tired of the noise of the restrained kindred and wonder what in the goddess' name was keeping them

Fourth phase: consider best way to release frenzying kindred at whatever emerged from the room beyond. Whatever.

Fifth phase: consider best way of shutting up frenzying kindred. Smashing head against floor or preventing air inhalation to stop sound production.

Rinse and repeat for the most part ...
David was lucky that she wasn't on the fourth phase when he re-appeared. Josphine was lucky twist didn't dwell much on the fifth.

It did take her a moment to put together the meaning behind David's words- after all she had to fill in the blanks created by interrupting snarls/howls/etc. When she did though she raised an eyebrow at him as he walked over to Rina. "You did not know him but you know who his current master is? Most impressive. She paused an then added, her tone slightly dry, "Unless you mean a small sarcophagus with the ashes that are all that remained of Freddrick after he was diablerized..." Ok ... Dry and slightly contemptuous at the idea of them not being able to lift the lid off a single box of ashes. Freddrick was an impressive persona of the domain but he wasn't exactly that large that his ashes would need such a heavy lid to be too much for two kindred.

[Kenneth Gilroy]

Upon David's return and confirmation that something had been found, Kenneth began rolling up the maps. Placing the them back into the tube, he swung the carrier over his shoulder and went over to the cops to quickly make sure they were all handcuffed. Well, except the dead one. Even without a heartbeat, there was so much blood around that even the corpse smelled tempting. And standing in a blood soaked room for half an hour had left Kenneth plenty tempted already. Instead of dwelling on the sensory information he sorted through the new data that had been revealed.

Gilroy chose to to ignore being called 'that one' as he followed David.

"Just so I'm clear Priscus Regan, you believe you have have found Freddrick's resting place and that Straiphen has been searching for it with the help of Freddrick's former ghoul, Mr. Body but," and he looked back to Twist to confirm (and to check on Josephine. The Archon's temper seemed to be shortening, though even Kenneth had to admit he was starting to think a temporary torpor might be appropriate) "Freddrick was subjected to the Amaranth by another Kindred. So it should only contain ash, if that." The points didn't line up. Regan's implied hypothesis didn't make sense with current data. It felt like they were missing information.

"Your Grace," Josephine's latest feral shriek was ear splitting enough that Kenneth had to wait to continue "I apologize, but I'm new to the Domain. If I can be so bold as to ask, what is the background surrounding Freddrick and his ghoul? Is there any relation with Straiphen?" It might be if the two knew each or if Straiphen drank Freddrick's soul, then it could very well be Straiphen in the tomb.

Hildegarde is too engrossed in her search to really take note of the Grand Wyrm's departure. Her hands move, slow and methodical with probing fingers. With deliberate slowness, she crouches close to the sarcophagus and carefully works her way around it.

Her eyes are lightly closed and her face is turned to one side. It is almost as if she were in prayer.

[Twist]

Twist opens her mouth to answer Kenneth but pauses to adjust her grip on Josephine's arm which was about to slip free and then remains silent as David speaks.

As he does, confusion flickers across her face, an expression that she doesn't bother to hide, and she seems to be trying to put puzzle pieces together in her head. If her hands weren't full of a flailing, screaming tumble of limbs, she would probably be making hand gestures to go with her internal thoughts. In the end she lets out a small, nearly inaudible sigh of "But Straiphen was not Mr. Body's master, Freddrick was." and chalks up the apparent confusion to language barriers that never seemed to fully vanish.

As David indicates that they will be moving the one remaining cop into the haven beyond, Twist settles more firmly her grip on Josephine. No need to risk her breaking free of the grapple just as the tempting man was escorted by after all.

[Kenneth Gilroy]

Kenneth realized the mistake he had made in assuming David had been talking down him. It was a rather easy assumption for the Haunt to make out of habit. Still, the Shadows' Priscus had been vague in his request. Was still being fairly abstract in his conversation about the the haven, the coffin, and 'targets of enemies'. Gilroy still wasn't quite getting Regan's thought process with the lack of proper nouns. The basics were clear enough. They had found something worth investigating.

The Haunt went back over to the cop, recuffing his hands behind his back before starting to try and carefully drag the man as gently as possible by taking hold of his shirt near the shoulders and pulling from there. The smell was distracting, rising from the man's wounds. Gilroy tried to ignore it as much as possible but by doing so might have been a little more rough than he should have been. All the university staff had been taught how to drag unconscious/injured people away from laboratory hazards quickly and safely. It was just Gilroy never had much call to actually practice his technique.

Don't know if Kenneth needs to roll for a first aid emergency carry but if he does... well let's just hope the cop doesn't start bleeding again

"I'll retrieve some restraints so we can cuff her to the piping," Gilroy offered. He had just returned from chaining the delicious smelling man to the plumbing under the kitchen sink. There was no reason they could do the to Sterling. Assuming of course that the pipes would hold. "If we link her arms behind her back and the u-bend it might be positioned awkwardly enough that she wouldn't be able to get leverage."

If David and Twist agree he goes back to the sweet smelling corpse to retrieve the cuff-links and return again.

[Josephine Sterling]

In response to all those gathering around it suddenly, the demon began to screech louder, almost as if recognizing that all that was left in its power was it's ability to scratch away at their psyches with fangs of noise.
