A package was left at the backdoor of Edna’s.

Written in a red crayon was the name AIDEN in all caps and unrecognizable for anyone in the freehold’s writing.

If shaken, the package only sounds like its surrounded by packing paper. It’s light and makes no other sounds.

If Maredrauga opens it, he will see this beneath a layer of newspaper.

    Package Contents

A note written with carefully removed words from pieces of the news paper form the following words.

    Keep Safe

When entering the thread, please state what tools, items, weapons, whatever that your character is bringing.

Those who enter the scene before Maredrauga can see the package is addressed to Aiden, but not the contents of the box.

Will the following players please report for plot

RebornSeas - Alex Addler; Swami Monsoon - Rostam Ibrahimi; Whisper - Maredrauga; Will - Philliph; Vassagon - Gregory

Hunching over, the man appears in his forties if not older. His hair is disheveled, his expression bizarre between glee or malice. His frame is thin and clothes ragged or stained, smelling worn and unwashed.
    Mein

His skin is gray like stone and his features more exaggerated, his eyes more set apart. Wings curl around his shoulders, unusable but expressive, as is his short tail. Horns adorn his brow and curl along the contour of his skull. He is what many would describe to be a gargoyle.

There have been many who have suggested to Gregory that he visit Edna's Boarding house to barter for room & board. And Gregory once relayed that information to Philliph ( Will ) with the offer that they might go together. This day seems just as good as any other to attempt a visit to the Victorian structure. If he is able to find Philliph, they may well arrive together on the doorstep of Betony Rue.

As he walks up the path towards the threshold, Gregory rings the doorbell, or knocks if one is not available. Having come up from the front, Gregory is unawares of the package that waits for his fellow Whisperwisp. Gregory wears his brown worn suit, torn along the back to suit his wingspan that drapes uselessly over his shoulders and back. Upon his head is a darker brown cloth cap that is squeezed between the horns protruding from his brow. He has found some gloves with holes in places to keep his digits warm but carries no other equipment.

"A desperate disease requires a dangerous remedy..."

The Whisperwisp uttered as the portal between the backyard and hedge opened. Drawing in a deep breath, Maredrauga pushed through to what most would have considered the real world. Most, though, didn't have a clue that faery tales were real. Being kidnapped and hunted had a way of shifting someones perspectives.

Maredrauga crouched down, changing the silhouette he cast as he surveyed the surroundings in both stillness and silence for any sign of danger. After a moment, he lifted back up and slowly stalked back towards the porch. Ascending the few steps up onto the porch, he spotted the package, but didn't think much of it. That was, until he saw the name on it.

To his knowledge, the only person who knew his name was the person he traveled across country with, and she was a few hours away in the City of Angels. That alone was enough for the hairs on the back of his neck to raise with the prospects. Slowly and cautiously he approached.

There was a long moment where is mind churned with the possibilities. Finally he picked it up to get a closer study. One of the first things he noticed, was the weight. Carefully, he held it and carried it inside to get a closer look within the light...

As he opens the back door, he hears the doorbell. The sudden sound, caused him to freeze in place looking for any sign of danger. Placing the package down on the kitchen table, he stepped softly to the door, shifting the fabric slightly to catch a glimpse of who rang.

Satisfied of diminished threat, he opened the door.

"Sup." He greeted Gregory with a added nod. He couldn't help but glance back to where the kitchen and the package.

Philliph wasn't far behind gregory. They had ran into each other not to much earlier and finally decided to gather enough courage to ask some questions about the boarding house. Philliph counted his lucky stars for the fact that gregory was with him. Knowing his lack of backbone he wouldn't have tried doing it alone anyway.

Philliph was wearing a thick coat and some worn out jeans and worn but durable shoes. With some fingerless gloves to keep his hands warm while still being able to have his sense of touch. Just like Gregory he doesn't have anything else on him. What other things would a bum have the money to get anyway?

He gave a small wave to the man who opened the door. "Hi.. could we come in?"

Alex was wandering the city looking for landmarks relevant to his status as a Changeling when he came across the fascinating sight of a man with stony wings and another with a hyena face (he looked familiar from somewhere - so he must have been in the background at the Blue Note... Maybe) on the front porch of a Victorian house.

Landmark? Found. Though now he wanted to know a name for it and why is was significant, so he half skipped and half jogged up to the building with a cheerful smile. He was honestly more surprised that no one had a mask up (Well, not so much for himself, he found that he wasn't as aware of his feathers with the mask and things wound up being ruffled in the worst way when it was dropped.) "Hey! Hope I'm not interrupting?"

Rostam had originally gone to see a man about a bike. An extra large bicycle, supposedly once owned by a power forward for the Sacramento Kings. Something he could maybe ride without looking like a trained bear at the circus. Its owner, apparently some kind of degenerate basketball fan, had posted it on Craigslist as part of an assortment of Kings memorabilia ranging from obviously valuable collector's items to objects much more obscure and strange. For reasons known only to him, it now all had to go... But by the time Rostam arrived, the bike had been sold. No, he was not interested in a signed Chris Webber jersey or an authentic hand-sewn Tim Donaghy voodoo doll. Thanks...

On his way back to the bus stop he passes a house that he remembers. Edna's. He hadn't been back there since the magical conclave or convention or whatever that had been... On impulse he turns off the sidewalk and heads up the walkway. Maybe there will be somebody around. The more people he can meet from the freehold, the better... right? Not like there was much else left to do this afternoon.

He approaches the small gathering at the door... "Hello, everyone."

Rostam is wearing his usual outfit, a shalwar kameez suit and a knit cap, along with a light jacket. The only tools he carries are a small folding pocketknife and a miniature flashlight attached to his keychain.

"Maredrauga," says Gregory in greeting as the familiar face opens the door. Gregory tilts his head thoughtfully at the question the man poses through informal slang. "We have come to impose on the lady, Betony Rue, if she be available. This be Philliph, my friend and fellow resident of the city." Words like 'Freehold' and 'Autumn Queen' hang on his tongue but remain unspoken as they still stood out in public for any passerby to hear.

Of which there seems to be many.

Gregory turns as the hailing of several Lost that happen upon the doorstep. The rumors were indeed true that many seem to take advantage of the Autumn Queen's offer. Why, this be a bustling social hub within the Freehold even outside the Autumn Season, thinks the Gargoyle with a twisted grin.

"Well met, gentlemen," says the Darkling to the approaching strangers. "Don't mind me, I just be visiting if you wish to get by." Gregory has the assumption that these Lost have already brokered with Betony Rue and return from their jobs in the city to enjoy the comforts of home. Why else would they be there?

Betony Rue is out right now, doing things that Betony Rue does. She is not always available at Edna's Boarding House.

    Carry on.

I always forget equipment, sorry! Alex doesn't have much on him, just a hairband, his apartment keys, and wallet

As Rostam greeted the growing group, Alex gave him a smile, and instead of a quite nod, found his mouth automatically speaking the manners his mother taught him, "Hello Uncle." He turned back to ask the other three men what this place was, but startled at his own phrasing he turned back to Rostam and took in his appearance with a more careful look. Ah, he new why he'd done that now, though it wasn't quite right. "Oh, sorry, you're not actually old enough to be an Uncle." he gave a rueful smile and a small shake of his to the Ogre, while embarrassment over his error darkened his cheeks.

Then the Gargoyle said something that made Alex give a quizzical, tilted look to him and opened his mouth to - well he wasn't sure what. There'd been some sort of assumption there, but he wasn't sure what that was. "Um... Sorry? I think there's been a misunderstanding."

Philliph craned his neck as he looked up at the giant that had appeared. Ears flat against his skull and his tail all curled up in between his legs. Some instinctive part of his mind was screaming at him that he should be running away from things bigger then him. But he quickly stamped out that. THey were all changelings here. Nobody was going to eat him or gregory... hopefully. Then Gregory introduced him to the man who opened the door. He was called maredrauga.

"Maybe we can figure out the misunderstanding inside? It's cold?"
