Thorns in the Garden

[Emrys]

Emrys stood outside the Greenhouse sanctum of the Panthera Nox. Cash changed hands, and the pizza delivery man was on his way. Three boxes of pizza were placed on one end of a cooler, while the Provost sat on the other end. His end of the food and drinks was secured, now he had to wait for Pepper for the veggie goodness.

Also keys, because for all the Provost's impatience he was not stupid enough to violate the sanctum of his Councilor. Not that he'd do that either way. He even remembered the seeds for the Interdict to respect the Panthers.

As he waited, the Syndic entertained himself with his phone and flinging colored birds at green pigs that would very soon star in their own Doctor Seuss book.

The last time he'd come here, Miach had been in a less than pleasant state, and had probably made a less than stellar impression. Tonight would be no such night. Tonight, the doctor was impeccably groomed, wearing a tailor-made suit and a tie. In his backpack, he was carrying his tuna and avocado salada, as well as various drinks based on rum. As well as soluble cappuccino and an extra helping of sugar, just in case...

In his hand though, there was something more. In a small plastic bag, he was carrying snapdragons's seeds, hoping that their color and their french-name 'wolf-muzzle', would be a reminder and testament to a great soul, recently departed.

As it turned out, the Provost was already there, waiting at the entrance to the Greenhouse for someone to open.

"Good evening Provost, how are you tonight ?" he hailed the other Enchanter, smiling broadly.

[Crowley]

Sunflowers! Everyone likes sunflowers. At least, that is what Crowley thought. He had the packet of seeds in a pocket so that he could wrestle with the feast of fast food he had bought with him. Eventually, he extricates himself from his van and battles over bearing his warm gifts.

"Hey Emrys! Hi Miach! How you been?"

[Aurora]

Faye had already been at the greenhouse, vowing to spend more time there. She got some ice tea and lemonade ready, setting the glass containers on a side table, clearly setup for food and refreshments. There was also a wrought iron table and chairs setup, each chair had a cushion on it, to make them more comfortable.

The greenhouse itself was warm, but not too warm. The smell of flowers and wet dirt were in the air, as the plants had just been watered.

Realizing the time, she hurried to the door, hoping no one had been waiting. As she opened the door, and saw some of the Path waiting, she smiled sheepishly,

“Sorry to keep you guys waiting! Please, come in.” she says stepping aside to let them in. That day she was wearing a yellow sundress, her long hair pulled into a messy ponytail.

[Emrys]

Emrys looks up from the screen, clicking his phone off and smiling at the sight of the Mystogogue and the others.

"I'm alright, how are you folks?" He says before looking to the opening door. When he saw Faye and not Pepper he paused for a moment, nervous that the bramble of thorns was assembled without it's rosebud. Still, he turned to Miach. "Can you grab the pizza and I'll get the cooler?" The Provost grabbed the pizzas and handed them to Miach if he would accept them, moving the cooler into the greenhouse himself.

As he made his way inside he placed the cooler next to the table with the lemonade and tea. He signed the guestbook as Merlin, and deposited the tiger lily seeds in the receptacle.

"So," The Syndic said as he opened the cooler, pulling a bottle of coke out from the assortment of sodas and beers inside. "There's one white pizza, one plain pepperoni, and a meat lovers. Pepper should be on her way with the salads and other stuff. Why don't we start with introductions and get some grub while we wait for stragglers?"

Eyes settle on July before continuing. "I'm Emrys, Provost of the Enchanters and Syndic of the Free Council."

[Miach]

Greeting both the Herald and then July, Miach was still relieved to see Faye arrive and open the Greenhouse for them. She seemed as confident as ever, and it was good.

Grabbing the cooler at Emrys's invitation, the athletic doctor pretended to have a hard time heaving it, and mockingly complained "So... damn... heavy... Plenty of beer I hope ?" he asked, only half-joking, while looking around. It looked much better when you weren't totally pissed nor gloomily depressed.

The mystagogue didn't know which food he'd like best, so he let the others choose first, and instead introduced himself, as asked. He was known by everyone, but still... no reason not to play along.

"I'm Miach, member of the Mysterium, and full-time doctor." It bore repeating, lest they'd forget someone may be able to save their lives...

[Crowley]

"I'm Crowley. Herald. Enchanter on the winding path to Arcadia. And uh... Free Council guy." Crowley said as he followed the others into the Greenhouse and deposited the fast food feast where it was open to all. He was more focussed on the guest book, where he artfully signed his name surrounded with crude trefoils, bountiful arbours and anatomically incorrect fawns and satyrs... rutting.

"Oh yeah. Sunflowers. Everyone likes sunflowers." He almost forgot to hand over his gift.

[Aurora]

She smiles and nods as each did their own introductions, the only new face to her was July. Which seemed like an odd name, but hey, it was a Shadow name, so whatever worked for him.

"It's great to see you all again! And July, nice to meet you." she replies with a friendly easy smile.

"Guess it's my turn huh? I'm Faye and a member of the Silver Ladder. I want to welcome you all to our greenhouse, we're still getting it up and planted and all that." she chuckles. "And wow! So many wonderful seeds to add!" she gushed at the seeds everyone had brought.

Quietly she wondered where Pepper was, and hoped everything was ok with her Cabal Mate.
