Chris looks at the handsome man from top to toe, for just a second. The Movement is getting a face now. Whatever a Myrmidon is exactly, Marco is it. The Shadow can guess, but he has never actually met one in real life.

'I am Chris Wooding, Reeve of Sacramento, Hierophant of the Circle of the Crone. Indeed, we haven't before, and yet so soon you have a acquired a nice position in one of the City's covenants. Congratulations.' He is sincere. No matter how friendly the First Estate appears to be in Sacramento, non-Invictus are always welcome.

Marco smiled brightly. "A pleasure to meet you. And thank you. I am quite pleased with how quickly the Movement has accepted me. The position requires one who can be impartial and clear headed, so I take it as a great compliment to be selected." He was glad to find out that Wooding was the leader of the Crone, as it might help the word of his new position get around faster.

"And I am doing splendid this evening. I was actually just speaking to senora Harding," he said, gesturing toward the attractive woman, "and she was telling me a little about your covenant. I must say, I am impressed at how knowledgeable she is. My old domain had a strong Circle presence and she represented the disciples wonderfully. You should be quite proud." She was polite, even seemed inquisitive about the Movement. That kind of behavior should be rewarded.

'It is good to see that there is a Movement. I always value the opinions of other Covenants, and the more the better then.' Chris says this with a sincere smile. It's no secret that the Carthians are small in numbers. But so is the Circle.

With the occasional new Acolyte. 'Yes she is an interesting individual, I hope she will be staying around. Are there specific things you wanted to know?'

'And, where would that Domain be, if I might ask?' As always, the Mekhet is curious. Besides, who doesn't want to know where the Circle is actually strong.

"That's very good to hear. I too am a fan of the input of multiple voices. One opinion can cause people to lose sight of how the world really works," he said with a smile. It was always good to hear someone sound moderately happy to know the Movement still existed.

"Well I was more just curious about the beliefs. I come from Houston and the Movement and the Circle were the only two who saw the potential of the city before the oil. The domain was Carthian, but we believe in, as Americans would say, 'freedom of religion.' I don't know too much of the covenant as a whole there, but membership was healthy." He hoped his words would bring comfort that not all cities were dominated by the First Estate. Maybe their covenant's mutual exclusion could bring them together as the covenants in Houston were. Maybe find some common ground with this handsome potential ally.

'A Carthian Domain you say, interesting. And freedom of religion is good, although that's the case here as well, for at least the last couple of years.' There were those dark times of secrecy. For Chris, more rumors than memories.

As long as the Brood's satanism is not among the allowed religions, it's fine.

'So you traveled here to "spread the word", so to speak?' He asks this in a casual tone, not aiming for a more personal reason. If there is one. 'Is a Carthian Domain always democratic? Or how did things go in Houston? If you don't mind me asking.'

"That's wonderful to hear. One must be able to follow their own way," Marco said with a smile.

"But yes, not necessarily to spread the word that the Movement has succeeded somewhere, but to inform Kindred that there is another way other than a mad grab for power. Now democracy is a funny thing, it can come in many forms. But no, not all Carthian domains are democratic. Like all groups their are multiple factions. One of us believes in focus on the individual, the idea that we strive for our own goals and assist our fellow Kindred on their path, but that we are first and foremost about ourselves, because how can we help the group when we ourselves are broken and long for things. Then you have those that believe the none shall succeed without cooperation. They believe we must focus all our attention on working together toward our collective goals. Now the last of the major groups, the one I belong to, well...they believe things should be somewhere in the middle. We must work together, but we can't forget our own desires. As long as your goal doesn't endanger the Movement than it can't be bad, because you seek it. So these ideals are at the foundation of the type of government we focus on. Communists or socialists for collectives, free enterprise or a loose affiliation of groups for individuals. For the Moderates like myself, I favor a representative democracy where we choose heads of groups who then convene together in a council to decide what's best."

"Now turning to Houston, they had a more free enterprise system where you sought your own desires, where the balance of power was controlled by spreading it thin instead of concentrating it with one group."

Konrad stands off to the side this time as he approaches Marco and Chris. Seeing that Marco is working his magic, Konrad doesn't interrupt as he did before. When he notices a pause in their discussion, Konrad clears his throat to signal his presence. His eyes are more attentive to the Reeve, signalling a matter of business to discuss.

Moving ahead due to Dark's Absence

Seeing that the Reeve is busy, Konrad makes his business quick, informing Chris of his cousin's, Jax's, arrival and hasty departure.

"So, just wanted you to know, if he's still stomping around the city, that he ain't acknowledged," Konrad concludes and then thanks the Reeve for his time.

Konrad looks to Marco next and smirks. "Hello again, guess we keep running into each other tonight. How'd your talk with Katya go? She's interesting, right?" he says jovially regarding his Croney cousin. He hadn't planned to stay long to talk, but it'd be rude to barge into another conversation and then ignore his Covenant comrade.

Marco smiled at the sight of his fellow Carthian. Noticing the Reeve was now busy he turned and said, "She was wonderful to talk to. Very knowledgeable about the Circle but very inquisitive about us as well," hinting at a future potential to convert possibly.

"How did introducing Alessandra to the Prince go? Speaking of, I don't think I've actually met him yet. I should probably do that soon, if not tonight," he adds with a thoughtful look.

"Huh, well actually this was the first time I really talked to His Grace," admits Konrad with an embarrassed laugh. "I wouldn't have approached him before I gained the Priscus position. But I've seen him chat with small fry before, just make sure you give respect where respect is due. But anyways, yeah, it went alright. Some numbnuts giant ass punk wandering up while I was talking though. Thankfully nothing crazy went down. Ale's still talking with the Duchess I think. They're getting along like a house on fire." Marco is likely aware of which numbnuts he meant, having explained it somewhat to the Reeve while in his company.

Konrad sets his hands on his hips with some satisfaction as he looks back to his Whip still chatting. His gaze wanders over to Angel who has her creepy family in attendance. And then to Katya and a familiar looking fellow. "Well, I won't keep you, if you're making rounds. There's an old face I want to catch up with talking with Katya now anyhow."
