"No, it's not the cutting that is the Art," Coco corrected after some moments, those moments being occupied with much slurping at the fast dwindling contents of her glass. "The Art is everything that comes before. It is the movement, the engagement, the conversation, the deft application of body, steel, and will. The cutting, or stabbing, or what have you is only the punctuation. It is the conclusion, the final note, but it is not the whole of the Art. No, rather it is the merest echo of it. The most base manifestation, just as scuffs upon the ballet studio's floor is a part of the dance, and yet only in the broadest sense."

She paused to take another sip, her faceted eyes darting down in consternation as she saw that she'd drunk up even the dregs of the glass. Then, with a shrug, she set the glass aside.

"You've not a bad idea, Kyle. A competition might be an intriguing thing. As for Catherine, I believe I'll save that for winter. For now, maybe one more drink..."

A little relief follows Coco's explanation. Relief and understanding. Going through the steps in his mind alongside her words, he's able to piece it all together. It is art. Just as beautiful as a painting or song - and not just about causing pain. Which is good. Was worried it was some sadism thing. With how angry she had been only moments before, it hadn't seemed a stretch to imagine it that way.

"Thanks. Just an idea, though. I'm sure it's a little easier to talk about doin it than to actually set it up." His eyes drift towards a possible third drink, but the Spring Queen's announcement snaps his attention away from it again.

"Shoot! They're about to start. If you're not plannin on gettin messy you should probably take cover..."
