"I, uh, have a question though. Just...before we go back," Avis interjected, a limp hand raising. "What do you do if someone's Truth oppresses someone else's? What do you do if two Truths just don't align, if they can't align? How do you find respect then?"

The words weren't intended for argument, but for honest inquiry, because honestly, there were a lot of Truths colliding recently, and it wasn't sufficient to just accept them all. If that was even possible, anyways. It sounded more like tolerance than respect, tolerance than acceptance, and tolerance was not a mortar that bound a foundation.

Truce breathes out in a silent sigh, nodding to Pepper's recalling their conversation, though feeling all the more rotten that she felt the need to remind him of it. The Necromancer cannot help but interpret Avis's next series of questions as argumentative. Yet the question is not for him to answer though he has one in mind.

Truce remains standing considering what is left on their agenda and eager to get back to the Consilium proper so that they could regain some illusion of authority among the chaos. Star's arrival diverts his attention and he comes with news that he had feared, that his Cabalmate had left altogether. His expression becomes stern. He would have to speak with her as soon as the meeting had concluded.

Pepper winced, and shook her head slowly. "Damn. Today's interesting. And Avis? Sometimes People come to conclusions you can't agree with. That doesn't entirely neglect their points, but it does mean it's important to know how they came to those conclusions. If for no other reason than to better convince them of your point." She gave a quick glance to Aquinas ( Casitive ) to confirm, then nodded to Star.

"Yeah, I think Recess is just about over. Should we do something with some of the new individuals, Drag Crowley forward to formally get their information and stuff?"

“Differences,” Aquinas says, after nodding to Pepper , “is what makes us great. Differences and understanding them and learning about them – even if we do not end up in agreement – make us perfect. Why? Because through our differences, we come to understand more of ourselves.”

The pestle of existence isn't a blunt instrument. “That, in and of itself, necessitates respect. But further,” Aquinas continues, “we must remember our similarities and not simply focus on differences: we are Awakened of the Pentacle. We fight against the Sleep foisted upon us by The Exarchs. We fight against the self-loathing, the hateful, and the insane. Above all of this, we search for Freedom – however that Freedom manifests for each of us.”

A look of welcome is passed to Star and the Hierarch asides, “I would suspect Einstein will need some space for the moment.”

Returning his attention to the Councilors, “I will need to make the announcements that the Councilors have come to and push them along.” It's their only warning. “Shall we reconvene then.”

"So be it," Avis agreed, standing herself. She'd meditate on what was said here today, but she held the suspicion that she would be the only one. The others seemed convinced by the lines they'd just shared, but she wondered how much of it they actually, truly, payed attention to.

In fact, it was times like this that Avis wondered if the Arrow was the only thing keeping honor from truly dying, but that just made it all the more important that she cast her spine in steel and carry on according to what guided her.

Without another words she exited the chamber on Star's heels.
