Chris bolts after the other Kindred, guided by both sight and Predator's Taint. The other man is faster, Beast feeding into his need to run, but the former Priscus isn't about to loose his quarry that easily. In seconds both of them reach the stairs and bolt back to the ground floor. This is about to become quite public, the only conscolation being that at the speed the two of them are going they are likely to be regarded a mirage by anyone who might see them.

Meanwhile, the butler has risen to his feet. The directive given to him by Aurora is quite clear, yet the man is lacking any weapons to do his job. Blank eyes settle on Rina's sword and he steps forward, making a clumsy grab which the Mekhet easily sidesteps.

Next turn: Shadow 14 (17 this turn with Celerity), Aurora 16, Katya 15 (is UP), Rina 13, Laura (Matthew) 12, Chris 9, Other Butler 8 - up. Tom is unconscious on the floor.

The Shadow continues to flee Chris barely slowing down at the front door to the building as nobody has bothered with actually locking it and the impulse from the blur that the man has become throws it wide open.

Meanwhile, Aurora is proving the horror movies wrong: everyone has seen that one scene where some incorporeal entity floats slowly and menacingly? Not her. Aurora runs down the corridor like a pro athlete despite her spirit state, her form becoming pretty much invisible with the distance.

Rina sidesteps the butler, and raises an eyebrow. Another thing she'd have to clean up, apparently. Poor guy. He probably hadn't even wanted to get involved in all of this. She brought her blade horizontally, hoping that, maybe, the pain would draw him out of his daze.

The man jerks and his hand reaches instinctively for the blood on his shirt before he looks back toward Rina, eyes still empty. Seems like pure physical pain isn't enough to get him out of his trance. Meanwhile Laura, possessed by Matthew, croaks hoarsely:

"I'll take him back".

And then the girl flips the reloaded shotgun against her chest and pulls the trigger. A flicker of realization seems to flicker in her eyes or maybe it's just the light. Regardless, moments later another shot resonates through the basement and Laura's body is flung one way and the shotgun - the other. She crumples to the floor like a puppet with its strings cut, and a pool of blood immediately starts to form around her. With her lungs full of lead she doesn't have long to live.

The other butler doesn't break the compulsion, possessed Laura pumps herself full of lead and is bleeding out on the floor. Chris ( Dark Passenger ) is up!

Chris' Beast easily awakens, it's not often that he can pursue another creature like this. With more strength of will he continues the chase.

The Mekhet grunts as he tries to keep up with the frenzied other. He's not getting much closer. His only hope is that the fleeing Beast has less vitae at his disposal. Surely the Reeve of a Domain would have better chances of feeding than a squatting campus guard.

And this really needs to stop, for the sake of the Masquerade.

Despite his pain the butler continues his attempts to grab at Rina and fails miserably. His movements are both clumsy and tired as his wounds start breaking through the fog and clouding his instincts even more. Laura's body lies next to him on the floor, slowly oozing blood but quite clearly free of any supernatural presence.

Meanwhile, Chris and the Shadow have gone outside and are running at super-human speed right toward the front entrance. In a feat of athletic prowess worthy of a professional runner, the other Vampire covers the entire distance to the gatehouse in mere seconds, banging the door open with his shoulder and keeping moving toward the metal detectors. People should really start actually locking the doors out here instead of just posting a guard. But what Kine would expect someone moving this quickly?

"Tch." The sound makes its way out of Rina's throat as the butler keeps on trying to attack her. Maybe it wasn't the compulsion anymore. He might have broken it and just be trying to attack her, now. Either way, though, it would result in the same. He was a threat, making the situation dangerous for her and others. So, she'd have to remove him. The blade swung up as she avoided his clumsy attempts, and down it came onto him.
