Katya would have made Indiana Jones proud. Perhaps she has an ancestor down the family tree whose sole job was to flay criminal so hard the whip would break their skin... Whatever the reason, the strike is swift and precise, splitting Tom's shirt in half on his back with a loud snap and leaving a trail of bruises on his body. The man groans involuntarily, trying to keep his focus on holding Chris in place. Somehow he holds on despite the jolt from Katya's strike, although his body is trembling slightly now.

The Shadow was still a threat, even if he was ignoring her. Rina brought her blade at him in a side-swipe, aiming to cut him even more into pieces.

Generally, Kindred prefer blades to guns as a weapon. A sword can really hurt an undead and make healing much more difficult than a simple bullet can. When blood doesn't flow and organs don't work any more, poking tiny holes in people suddenly isn't such a good idea. But the problem with blades is that they are slow and oh-so-easy to evade for a Vampire affected by Celerity. The Shadow spins almost inperceptibly, and the blade barely touches him bumping off the kevlar and leaving only a graze on bleach-white skin.

And he spins right into the barrel of the girl possessed by Matthew. The second shot seems much less deafening than the first because their ears are still ringing. Blood, bone and hair fly everywhere as the gauge tears through the man's jaw and exits near the base of his skull. The Vampire cringes from pain and his head sways to the side as half of the muscles have been blown out. Suddenly the wounds Rina gave him seem much more serious.

Rina deals 1L to the Shadow. Matthew deals 4L. Dark Passenger is up.

As apparently the student is stronger than him, all Chris should be doing is escape from his grasp. While he uses his blood to start healing his severe wounds, he puts his mind to the task ahead.

There's a loud bang, and the sound of a whip very close. They may still have a chance. The Mekhet pulls one arm off him, then slips out of the other. Then, if Tom isn't quick enough, he may be able to run free. Aurora needs to be taken care off.

Back to health, guys. I'll try to wrap this up properly and quickly as the last burst of ST activity

In an impressive fit of dexterity the Reeve manages to escape Tom and the fact that the student is currently being flayed probably helps quite a a bit too.

By this point the room is already a mess with shotgun shells having blown huge chunks out of furniture and people in various degrees of pain all around. The butler that Matthew had possessed seconds before rises from the floor somewhat sluggishly before setting his eyes on Chris. In them, there is nothing: a perfect calm of a coma patient. But the face is distorted into a frozen grimace of pain.

Meanwhile, the Vampire with half his face blown off jerks his head up and everyone is suddenly capable of sensing his Beast. It is an angry one, but far too preoccupied at the moment to bother with Predator's Taint. Before anyone can realise what has happened, the Vampire is gone: Celerity and the Beast carrying him through the open door and dozens of yards away toward the corridor.

Having seen her partner escape, Aurora abandons any attempts at attack. With urgency, the woman claps her hands together but, strangely, there is no sound. A wave-like shimmer spreads from her palms and envelops her entire body in mere seconds. The dagger she was holding falls with a clang and the clothes rustle to the flooras if the person inside them has just deflated into nothingness. Where there was a blond professor before there is now an indistinct shape wavering in mid-air. She moves right at Chris and, before the Mekhet realizes what is happening Aurora passes right through the Vampire. The sensation is just... wrong. Her speed is pretty normal but she is definitely not corporeal.

A faint whisper reaches Chris:

"Let us go..."

Matthew moves to leave Laura's body to pursue her but then glances at the shotgun still in his hands and curses. Leaving the girl be would be very, very stupid right now.

Chris breaks the hold and is free to move.

Next turn. Init Order: Shadow 14 (17 this turn with Celerity - disappeared down the corridor in Rotschreck), Aurora 16 - at the door, incorporeal, Katya 15 (is UP), Tom 14, Rina 13, Laura (Matthew) 12, Chris 9 (if no Celerity), Other Butler 8.

Seeing Aurora and the Vampire flee the room and still feeling the pain on his back very acutely, Tom hesitates turning his gaze from one vampire in the room to another.

Tom holds his action. Cabochard is up!

A hiss escapes Rina's mouth. Of course the vampire would run. Well, she couldn't catch up to him now. They'd have to deal with that, later, and probably with the security guard too. And any cameras around. Who's plan had this been, again?

Rina opts to remove the final threat before moving on. The katana lashes out again, to bring Tom down.

The student drops like a sack of potatoes after Rina's strike. The slash isn't very deep but the Shadow manages to cut him from his left shoulder to the right thigh in one swift sweep of her katana and the shock compounded with the blood loss prove too much for his constitution. The man is no longer a threat.

The possessed girl, cursing in a very un-feminine manner, hastily reloads the shotgun, probably intending on doing some more serious damage with it.

Tom is unconscious, Laura (Matthew) reloads her shotgun. Dark Passenger is up!
