Beer and Tacos

The Rubicon Brewing Company. Monday night. Happy hour. Who could say no to $2 tacos and $3.50 pints? The place was busy, it was happy hour after all, and the hubbub of friends meeting and celebrations being had laid a backdrop to the clinking of glass and the crunching of tacos between hungry teeth.

Striker had managed to get a booth near the back and had already started on his second taco while he waited for Emrys to show up. Not that Emrys was late, but the shaman was hungry.

Emrys seemed to be the most vocal, maybe the most organised when it came to the Whispering Wave. He didn't know exactly what it was but the Australian wanted to get to the know the bloke better. He didn't really need an excuse to try out a new bar, but this was a good one anyway.

There were a few things Emrys never thought to put together. Cinnamon and caramel, food and sex, and more relevantly tacos and beer. He wasn't averse to any of them, but if Striker hadn't invited him he probably wouldn't be here right now.

Fortunately though, here he was! Eyes caught the layers of willworking in the back corner, and the Enchanter headed back for the one armed Australian.

"Hey Striker." He said as he grabbed his seat opposite the Shaman. "What's up?"

"Hey mate!" Striker called out through a mouthful of taco. "Oh jeez. That one's spicy!" he exclaimed taking a swig of beer to wash it down. The beer didn't do much to get rid of the burning in his mouth but it wasn't that bad, just unexpected.

"Beer and taco's are up, but the price is down. Just thought we should have a chat about stuff ya'know. I mean since you were gonna join me first, but now I've ending up hooking up with your group. Uh.. gimme a tick."

He willed a bubble of sound around them to distort and turn their conversation into a murmur to anyone not within the radius.

"Righto we can talk freely about magic and stuff now. So yeah. I just wanted to say thanks for the invite too, 'cause I've been struggling to find good people to work with ay." he said with a respectful nod.

$3.50 pints of 8% beer? Yes please. Even a Blonde. "Hehe" The sip is great too.

Sacramento was a good call. Really good call. Another sip and the Theurgist wonders if the place could use some good beats.

Loud beats. Wait. That glimmer. With a grin Arthur makes his way towards the glimmer. Worst comes to worse, run like hell. Best, maybe there's a cute mage.

Ermon has missed being in a Cabal for many reasons, not the least of which is always having some people to hang with and get to know better. With distrust pretty much being the middle name of ever damn Mage in the Concillium aving a group you can more or less rely on and share stuff with is simply awesome.

He'd heard some of the guys were going to get together for some beers and decided to join. Not like he had much to do with a free evening, which was why working as a chef was so great. Not many of those.

He walks into the place and whistles appreciatively at the prices. Even if the quality is crap, this is still great. Spotting some familiar faces, the Warlock walks over:

"Heya, great place. Hope they serve decent beer".

"Hey fellas." Striker greeted the new arrivals, moving over to make room at the table. "It's cheap. But it's not too bad. How yous been? What have yous been up to?"

The gang!...crew? Ya crew. "Eh not bad. I like the deals here." Arthur raises his glass then takes a sip.

"Meeting people around town mostly. Trying to find a place." He slides into a spot at the table. "Enjoying town"

"Hey guys." Emrys said as he slid his food and drink into the booth to give the others room. He didn't raise an eyebrow at Striker's spell because honestly, what idiot would try something out in the open like this? It was obviously something covert, and covert it ended up being.

"Nothing much. Been helping Mace deal with a ghost near the university, trying to get my stuff together to move into the new place. Standard Magey things." Emrys gave a shrug as he took his first bite of a taco. It wasn't so bad.
