Daniel followed Lynn, the contrast in light blinding him momentarily. He tried to take in what details he could as he exited. And to look as nonthreatening as possible if any automatons should be near them.

The door swung inwards without a murmur or creak and the marks of various weapons is easily noted from the otherside of the door, no doubt from where HAL made his escape. The group found themselves looking into a large kitchen area that looked very underused; dirt and dust covered every surface with a hearth long dead on the right hand-side of the room. In the centre was a large wooden table no doubt used for preparing meals but like everything, it had not been used. The floor underfoot was stone and the few touches of decorations, fake plastic plants and flowers, had been dotted around. Pots, pans and utensils hung from the ceiling and hooks on the walls. The touch of static and smell of ozone they could sense in the cellar was slightly more prominent as they opened the door to the kitchen. Another door, also closed but not looking barred, was on the opposite side of the room from the one they had just opened.
Lynn dusted her hands off and crossed the room, taking it all in carefully. "Well, we are trying to be polite, yes? Maybe we should knock?" She glanced at the others and shrugged, before reaching out and firmly knocking on the next door, exactly as if she was asking permission to enter somebody's dwelling back in the more mundane world.
Marcus' nostrils are filled with the smell of ozone as he steps through the ritual doorway into HAL's abandoned hollow. Holding his clockwork torch before him, the elemental carefully makes his way up the stairs and breaths a sigh of relief when he sees Morgan, Daniel, and Lynn illuminated by its flickering light.
"Sorry it took so long for me to catch up. Everyone alright?"
The fact that the room looks so disused surprised him a little when they first enter. When he thinks about it though, it made sense. Why would robots need to use the kitchen? The gravewight smiled slightly at Lynn and her joke. All his attention was on the door and any possible answer to the knock. Such it was that Daniel practically jumped out of his skin when a voice suddenly spoke from behind them. He turned quickly and was more than a little relieved to see Marcus standing behind them at the entrance to the cellar.
He gave a quick glance to Lynn "I'll make sure he's up to date," he said and quickly headed back into the cellar.
"Marcus, glad you were able to catch up. You can leave that here, there's light up ahead," he waits for Marcus to leave the torch before ushering him forward out of 'earshot' of the metal.
"Just knocked on the kitchen door so we might not have a lot of time before they answer," he said hurriedly "So short version: HAL's planning some Hedge internet slash GPS thing with the Blue guys; the bridge burner's dog said the Blues were going to revolt soon; HAL needs a journal here is his Hollow before he'll hand over a book he says will help defeat the Dragon; got run out of this place by robots he made after he made one named Kathryn; said if we kept them talking they probably wouldn't attack; we think his GPS plan is bad news though and hope to get another deal from the automatons, maybe the Blues; Morgan's going to stay hidden while Lynn and I do the talking." Daniel fired off the rapid string of events and explanations. He gave Marcus an 'any questions?' look. The door might open any second.
A gasp from the shadows could be heard upon Marcus's arrival. There may have been a brief reflection of something catching the light of the new torch, but it quickly disappeared. Morgan stayed quiet, hoping to remain cloaked in shadows and unnoticed.
Though that was getting harder with all the light sources, so she re-positioned herself to try to find a stronger patch of shadow in the kitchen.
Lynn squeaked a bit and jumped as the voice of Marcus suddenly came from behind them. Not what she had been expecting at all. But it looked like Daniel was taking care of filling him in, so instead she turned back to the door and listened, hoping to hear the sounds of anybody who might be approaching. Sadly, anything she might have heard was lost in the pounding of her heart in her ears.
Nobody here - failure
Marcus nods as he sets the clockwork torch down and follows Daniel to the other door.
"HAL gave me an update before he sent me after you lot. We all agree he's a complete nutter and needs to be stopped, right? Be that as it may, I think we need to stick to the plan and do whatever it takes to find out anything we can about Fairweather. Because right now, it looks this crazy bastard is the best shot we have to kill the dragon."
Bringing up the rear, the elemental still keeps his eyes and ears peeled on things up front just in case he needs to rush forward to assist.
Perception: 4 suxx
Despite the knock on the door and Lynn's suitable squeak, several moments pass by without anything storming the kitchen door to investigate. Peeling his ears was a good idea on Marcus' part. A distant echo can be heard, the sound of music coming from deeper inside the Hollow and definitely on the same floor as the kitchen they now stood in.
Marcus cocks his head as he looks at the others.
"I don't hear anyone on the other side, but... listen to that. Do you hear it? It sounds like... music."
