(SVD) Death & Ferret on the Dance Floor

Tessa finished pulling him onto the dance floor. He about went into a ballroom frame in preparation for possibly waltzing before he realized Tessa might not know any dance steps. So instead he dropped his hands into a more casual hold and went for the classic high school dance of shifting your weight from one foot to the other. It wasn’t the most visually appealing dance compared to what they had just seen but it allowed for some conversation.

“Any experience dancing?” he asked in case she was excepting something more complex. He knew the basics of a couple dancing. Sad as it was he could not remember where he had learned them, which probably meant someone had taught him the steps during his durance. He wondered briefly if any other Changeling wished they could remember more of their time in Arcadia. Of course whoever had taught him was probably dead or worse.

A touch more melancholy found its way into his steady smile though he hid it as best he could and tried to enjoy himself in the here and now.

"You didn't miss much," Daniel said. He remembered the kind of dances he had gone to in high school. Half the kids were either high or drunk, the music was frantic and loud, with either almost no beat or nothing but beat, and it was always crowded. Funny how looking back it all seemed so much more hollow than at the time.

"We'll stick with this then. Maybe throw in a few turns if you're feeling adventurous," he offered a small smile. "Besides if we can show everyone else how easy it is then other people will start dancing too." They shuffled for a couple moments before he spoke again. "Sorry if I embarrassed you earlier with the card thing. It was a boneheaded thing to do."
