(Reliquary) Case Reopened?

He's almost disappointed with Julian's inability to connect the dots. How indeed? Where is the author's imagination? Gerald's own danced around the possibilities. All of them bloody and cruel. The fact that Gerald is able to imagine them without cringing is an odd sign. I should see a shrink. For dinner. More dark humor and private amusement.

"That should be easy." he responds to the Reeve, confident that he can handle 'the next step'. He gives the Shadow an inquisitive look. "Shall we all go together or split the list and cover ground more quickly?"

Julian shrugged, the usual smile sitting lazily on his lips. He didn't think it was going to be that easy; but that was fine - he was quite content to tag along and take the role assigned to him. The description Chris had given of the perpetrators didn't make it sound like they were the sort of people who were going to just waltz into a store and buy the stuff themselves. The stuff itself being an unknown entity at this point... Most likely; they either had a ghoul or servant go and do the legwork. Or maybe they simply took the item in question; there were a number of ways both subtle of forceful to do so; many without the owner being aware the item was going at all.

But hay, if Chris and Gerald thought there was benefit to searching for a needle in the hay stack, Julian was prepared to give them the benefit of the doubt. "Alright, sounds like a plan. I vote we stick together. I'm sure we all have talents that might be useful in finding whatever it is we are looking for; one of us might miss something that another would have picked up. Slower going, but it'll save us having to backtrack to make sure nothing important was skipped over."

Chris never thought that this was going to be easy, but it is their only clue.

'We will stay together. We're dealing with four or five dangerous fellows here, and we don't know what their connection is to these shops.' He nods to both men. 'And McAlister already found these bodies a few days ago - so the tracks are cold anyway. We better work thoroughly, rather than quickly.'

He looks at the list again, 'Roberts Cave of Wonders? Let me see where that is.'

Chris grabs his phone and tries to Google his way to a location of this cave of wonders.

Roberts Cave of Wonders is easy to find. Its an antique dealer and wholesaler, just off the Dwight D. Eisenhower Highway and outside of Davis. And a relatively short journey by car.

If Chris was to continue checking the other names, he would find a common thread - all the names belonged to antique dealerships, spread out over the Bay Area and northern California.

Sounds like we can move to another scene then, linked or not, depending on the time

The Ventrue feels more amenable to working quickly, but eventually submits to the more popular idea (of investigating the shops together) with a shrug. "Very well. Together. We will follow Sacramento's Reeve." He gives Julian a reassuring smile.

Yup. Good to go.

And so another night winds up as the scene is cleared of evidence, scrubbed and washed down. Soon the only indication that anything happened at the warehouse is its buckled fencing and the footage found on a smart phone. The Kindred depart.
