Or are you suggesting that there be some system in place to press gang an elligible Voice into place?" Avis asked, eyes turned back to her paper, pen set to work again.

Namkha is silent, just listening to the Hierarch and the Councilor. She's already told what she felt was necessary, and intruding into the middle of the discussion most probably would just annoy the Talon even more.

Ermon sits with his arms folded, contemplating the fixed trial length proposed and Aquinas's solution. There really isn't much to add as 30 days is too limiting and gathering the evidence may take varying amount of time depending on the case. Even preparing for the practical exam took quite a while and they had all the data served to them on a plate that time.
A real one would possibly be much worse.

"Very well, Hierarch. I'll come up with something," Avis replied after silence had blossomed over her path.
Her pen stopped moving and she looked up. "Any other thoughts? This is your last chance to affect the charter for a while," she warned, eyes tracking to Ermon and Gyges .

Ermon shrugs his shoulders in response to Avis:
"I don't know... In theory, it works - let's just come together in a few months and see. The only thing that concerns me is that we might now push people together strongly enough".
Hopefully by that time the charter and his own ambitions will have pushed him into a Cabal. As much as they would like to anticipate everything in the legislation, it's impossible. Only practice will show what needs to be added.

"Alright. In that case I think the meeting will come to a close. If there's any problems you encounter, with anything, or if there's something you think of later that you want to suggest for the charter, give me a call. Otherwise, does anyone want to make any last comments before we all head our separate ways?" she asked again, unnerved by the lack of response. Maybe Aquinas had already named their concerns, maybe Avis wasn't asking the right questions, or maybe it was just that her Path had shrunken disturbingly since their last meeting, but it didn't sit well. Nothing to do about it though. Nothing except keep moving and try to improve from there.
