The low fog only intensified the feeling of gloom that crept over the farmstead that day. Darkness fell quickly - the time was not clear to Crowley as he scrambled to his feet at the base of the farmhouse. Conditions were awful for seeing, but absolutely outstanding for sneaking. It seemed that Lady Luck was on the Acanthus's side.
Hours had passed since Miach had agreed to go with the Mage at the shop. He'd been allowed to get changed, and much time was spent waiting, but his new friend had been most polite once he had agreed to come along. A van had been taken, and after a long drive out into the hinterlands, the tires finally rumbled over the pebbles that made up the driveway to this place. The van stopped. The fatty got out. A gate was swung open, allowing them entry as the vehicle pierced the night-time gloom.
Unlike Crowley, Animus had been treated most courteously. As the Mistress led him out onto the steps of the old farmhouse, she smiled as she saw lights in the darkness.
"Ah. It seems our last has arrived. We're almost ready. Are you, Animus?"
Her friends trailed the Ubermensch and their leader like silent sentinels, looking on into the black beyond.
All right. The layout of this is three main buildings around a central sort of plaza - a barn on the east, which Crowley just exited; the farmhouse on the west, which Animus just exited; and a shed on the north. None of the three buildings can see each other easily in the fog and darkness (PER-5). Each building is about a hundred yards apart, and the square plaza makes up the middle. The driveway runs out the south end.
Crowley and Animus can easily see the light in the fog made by the headlights of the vehicle.
