    Shit!

    "No! Duke! Wait!"

Bobcat continues at the same speed, he didn't want the agents to see the bikers so soon.

Duke doesn't seem to hear Bobcat yelling over the engine on his bike and the wind blowing by.

Bobcat looses sight of him through bend after bend on the winding mountain road. And the he hears another pop--another blown tire--another screech, and the grind of metal on pavement.

As Bobcat continues on, the scene unfolds before him:

There's a spike strip on the road fifty meters ahead of Bobcat--easy enough to brake and avoid. (No Perception required, as you've figured out the tires were going.)

The Oldsmobile sits on four flats, front end smashed against a guard rail, driver certainly dead.

Duke seems to have tried to avoid the spike strip with only partial success. Bobcat's best bet is that Duke saw it too late, lost his front tire, laid his bike down, and took a tumble. He lays, not moving, in the median.

A man in a jean jacket is scurrying about the car: back seat, trunk, passenger side. He's probably looking for the money. He doesn't seem to have connected Duke to the situation . . . yet. Collateral damage, at this point.

The man who was on the ridge is nowhere in sight, but Bobcat sees the spike strip recede, like it had been remote.

No one has seen Bobcat yet, as he's at the end of a straightaway. It's quite feasible that he could turn off his headlight, park, and watch. It's just as feasible that he could run down Jean Jacket with his motorcycle and have at Ridge Man when he finds him.

Shit Duke.... His friend was too hasty sometimes, but being careful is usually a disadvantage for the likes of them, if you don't act quickly you are probably dead.

Bobcat gets only a bit closer to the car and yells "HEY SHITHEAD! ARE YOU LOOKING FOR THIS? COME AND GET IT!" while showing the bag with the money. As soon as Jean Jacket notices him, the biker starts to make his engine roar, waiting for agent's move. I need to get him away from Duke before they recognize him.

When Jean-Jacket catches sight of the money bag in Bobcat's grip, he lurches forward, stops himself, and then raises a walkie-talkie to his lips. Bobcat is too far to catch what he says, but it's clear that Duke isn't the focus. Jean-Jacket musses in a bunch of roadside foliage before producing a bike of his own . . . a Kawasaki--not the kind to buy American.

There had been another, up on the ridge, but Bobcat sees no sign of him.

Headlights appear around the bend behind Bobcat, blinding--no way to tell if it's just some civilian behind the wheel, or if it's the other guy . . .

What's with everyone painting their bikes on fucking green?

Once he makes sure the guy will follow him, Bobcat starts to lead the pursuit, trying to lose them in the city.

    Time to have fun...

This was not only about avoiding them, they could have done that just by removing the trackers... this time it's about humilliating them, making them fail in their mission when they were very close to achieving it. It was about sending a message... Nobody fucks with the Bobcat...

Bobcat torques the throttle, speeding past Jean-Jacket, before he can even get his bike started.

In his side mirror, he sees the green bike fall in behind him. Jean-Jacket has a .38 gripped in a gloved hand, half-committed to his steering column, for all the good it will do him. That gun would only be an issue inside of 20m, and Bobcat has a 50 m lead.

Further back, someone gets out of the mystery car--not the other operative, but a do-gooder. They pause over the wreckage, and then lean down to check on Duke.

The other operative is still nowhere in sight.

Roll DEX + Drive, extended roll, three turns. The speed limit is 35 on the mountain road for bends and rises. For every 15 mph you go over, add a difficulty. Note that the pursuers will have to match your speeds to keep up, so harder rolls make it more likely for them to wreck or fall behind.

After a stretch, Bobcat comes to section of sheer--cars going both ways. He can hug the median--about a foot and a half--but he can't see around the corner and would have to reduce speed greatly since it abuts the guard rail (0 DIF at 35, + 1 DIF per 10 mph). Or, he can drive up the yellow line with cars passing on both sides (2 DIF, no slowing required).

Those assholes have no idea who they are dealing with. Let's see if he can follow me

Bobcat feels the mountain wind in his face as he accelerates. 30, 35, 40, 45, 50 mph.

In the first straight away, Jean-Jacket holds his own, but it becomes clear that he's a Sunday cruiser at best: he takes the turns upright, lowering his speed. By the time Bobcat zips up the yellow line, Jean-Jacket is lost in a cloud of exhaust. Turns out green was a fitting color for the bike.

As Bobcat rounds the bend, he finds out where the other operator went . . .

In the road ahead, a second bike--this one red-- face's Bobcat. The rider has a black beard and an Evil Knievel jacket on. An unlit cigar hangs from one corner of his mouth, and a sawed off rests across his lap. The distance is 100 meters. Evil Knievel revs his engine. Chicken? seems to be the question. If there's any truth to the jacket, this one will be a better rider than the other . . .

Roll Perception, no matter what you do.
