(1411) Allison and Asa

[Asa]

The clusterfuck of Acknowledgments amused him. There was no other word for it.

He remembered his own fumbling with the process, and quickly taken Twist's approach to the process -- which wasn't without it's own issues, but preferable. For most. One never knew what the Do-Keru thought of it all.

Satisfied that the Nosferatu convocation that had formed around him was dispersing, he walked over to where Allison Black sat and offered a hand and a slight smirk. As entertaining as it would have been watching her stand back up in her dress without assistance, it was bound to be... indecorous.

Allison accepted his hand, quite happy to forgo being forced to play wallflower through choice of wardrobe. As she stood back up, she gave a quick tug to keep the dress from riding up. "Good times..." She couldn't say without a shake of her head and added giggle.

"Live and learn..." Allison said with a grin.

[Asa]

"Quiet times!" Asa answered Allison Black , looking around Court.

There were far fewer people than he was used to seeing, and many new faces. He wondered what it was about this time of year that accounted for new arrivals and departures. Or maybe those that weren't present hadn't departed, but were just busy. It seemed strange that immortals would be swayed by the impending arrival of a new year -- but it almost seemed like moving was a New Year's Resolution.

"Only one person to entertain you this evening? If I recall, the last time you had at least two," he added with a grin.

"You're losing your touch..."

And in that dress? Ouch.

"Someone had to hold down the couch." Allison laughed as she unconsciously straightened out her dress. "Which takes skill in itself."

"Speaking of drawing crowds..." Allison eyes drifted over to the fuster-cluck of new arrivals. "A lot of new faces."

[Asa]

"I'm a wall man, myself," Asa answered with his own soft laugh. "Some of them don't hold themselves up, you know. I've been worried about the furniture, though, so I'm relieved to know someone has that covered."

His own eyes followed hers. Three? Four? Five? He wasn't sure. Normally, they'd all be in a single cluster, surrounding and concealing a tiny Shadow.

"There are," he agreed. "I was noticing that earlier -- as well as notable absences."

Some Kindred came and went without ever having made an impression; others, had been in Sacramento for years -- their absences were immediately apparent. For many reasons.

"And do you know any of the new faces? Any first impressions?"

Will any make a lasting impression?

"Tis the season..." Allison gave a soft nod, as this time of year often seemed to slow down and bring some modicum of peace and quiet. "Don't know any of them, though did have a chance to meet Angel . She seemed nice enough." Allison's eyes slowly shifted across some of the other new arrivals, still not quite sure what to make of them.

"Time will tell..."

[Asa]

"Ah, yes, I met her as well." Asa turned, focusing on the new Reeve and his new friend.

A smile quirked at his lips. Angel Ducard, the Monochrome. Then there was Josephine Sterling, the Mononym. If one considered the oldest Savage, then Sacramento had a Monosyllable and the oldest Mekhet could be labeled Monotone.

Unfortunately, he was too polite to share the observation in open Court, where anyone besides Allison Black could eavesdrop.

Then there's Mono... tonous.

Really, he needed to stop. It sounded like a perfect forfeit for a drinking game, though.

"It seems another new one slipped in, over there, with Mister Cordoba and Reeve Wooding -- who seems to be taking to the new attentions on his time like a duck to water."
