Now this is where things get more exciting for the Shadow. He maneuvers himself between the butler and his two fellow Kindred, he has to be careful, but there's always a little space between people. Once inside he steps aside, he finally has time to fully realize what kind of mansion they're in.

Well, if Richard decides to kill everyone, Chris might just take this house as his Haven. Hehe.

After a few seconds he turns around though, as he wants to find the mirror. Then he also wants to check if 1) he hears any other people nearby, 2) there are any camera's inside the house as well, and if 3) from the looks of it, he can just pull the mirror away to get to the door.

Of course, he will wait with that as soon as no one is too close.

Konrad and Richard

The butler lets the two Kindred into a small round library. Shelves stretch upwards toward the ceiling and there are several small tables with comfortable leather chairs. The place being full of paper, there is no fireplace but the lights are warm as is the dry air.

"Please wait here a moment while I fetch Ms. Saunders", - he then steps out, closing the door behind him.

Richard and Konrad are left alone in a room full of books, both fictional and scientific. The latter are mostly connected to history. An open bottle of whiskey stands on one of the tables, accompanied by an empty glass.

Dark Passenger , please roll Perception without bonuses or penalties.

Chris quickly realizes that what seems like a very small distance to the butler who knows the house like the back of his hand is actually quite a bit of distance. Thankfully, the house is completely deserted and the Shadow quickly finds the required mirror.

After Harold closes the door, Konrad moves to the book shelves, attempting to scan the bindings for something relating to 'Enochian Rituals' or just something old enough to look rare. Something that valuable doesn't seem likely to be among the common collection, but Konrad isn't going to leave a stone unturned especially now that they have a moment to snoop around. Unfortunately, Konrad doesn't have an eye for books, let alone finding something he's never seen before out of a whole bunch of them.

Richard watches the butler exit, soon after he notices Konrad snooping around the library, which he guesses makes sense, after all they were here to locate a book and were now standing alone in a library. But he doubted that something so valuable would just be left unguarded with a couple of strangers. But still he can't blame Chris for trying and begins his own brief search however he isn't looking for the book. Instead he searches around for anything with the families name on it, anything at all that could give him a hint as to what sort of people he was dealing with, it would make lying to them much easier. He takes a few step closer and whispers, "Anything?"

Konrad and Richard

The two Kindred quickly comb through the library. Konrad stumbles upon a suspiciously thick tome in his search, one that could actually contain another book inside. As he opens it, the Gangrel disccovers that there is a hole cut in the pages and a SATA disk is in there. With a small note attached:

"Harold, only you ever look inside the books. If you found this, one last time: leave my porn the fuck alone! It's healthy".

Richard is a bit more lucky with his approach: such a wealthy family is likely to have accounts of their lives. He almost immediately finds a family genealogy with brief biographies for the family members.

You can look for something specific with Konrad or flip through the thin tome.

For Chris

There is the tiniest gap between the edge of the mirror and the wall. Somebody must have forgotten to close it completely when they left.

If Chris hears no one nearby, he'll try to pull the mirror away. He must get to the other side, and the Cloak of Night was never meant to last forever. Besides, he wants to get out of here as soon as possible.

Before the others get kicked out.

In case it's impossible to open the gap with his hands, he'll try to use his prybar. But it shouldn't be too hard, he thinks, since it's only meant to conceal a heavier door.

[Konrad Roth]

Konrad sighs and closes the hollowed out book. If that's the extent of the Saunders dark secrets then blackmailing isn't going to go far, he thinks, rubbing his temple with some irritation.

"Nothing useful," answers Konrad, reshelving the tome and walking over to Richard. "Somehow I doubt they'd just leave something like that on a shelf. How about you?"

Richard almost gives up searching just before finding something useful. It was a family tree that listed brief descriptions of it's members. He waves for Konrad to come and take a look "Yo, check it out." he whispers as he places the book down on the table and opens it to just about the middle point to a random member of the family. "Maybe there is something in here about Ms. Saunders" he says while searching the book for her entry.

"Start at the latest entry," says Konrad looking down at the book with Richard. "There's something to do with the parents always dying when the kids turn eighteen. Well, let's find out how old the kids are. If they're old enough to be interested in porn then maybe they're reaching that cutoff point," he suggests, assuming that the disc he had found was the product of a sexually repressed teen.
