This Meeting is set on December 1, 2014, in the early evening.

    Asp

The appointed day had arrived: it was time for a long, long overdue Adamantine Arrow meeting. She had arrived in April, and there had not been one since. That would change. It had to. The Order needed communication if it was to succeed. And they had things to discuss, didn't they?

Leo Lockheart's disappearance. He'd been gone ages, and wasn't off on Sentinel duties - Aquinas had no idea where he was, and wanted the Sentinels to find him.

The subsequent hole in the organizational structure of the Order.

Breaking down into squads and setting up for operations.

    Sharing intel.

Yes, there were plenty of reasons to meet. The Adamantine Arrow had once been small after the departures of the previous year, but now, it had seven Talons. Seven people dedicated to the defense of Sacramento. Seven honourable warriors. It was exceptional growth.

Asp had set up a circle of chairs around the circular kitchen table for the meeting section. Naturally, the gym and dojo had also been prepared, just in case. Training was never a bad thing. It made them sharper, stronger, more ready for the Day. She sat at one, a half-full bottle of Evian before her. She was dressed simply; yoga pants and a tank top with her athletic shoes, and her tonfa resting on her hip from a little strap. Prepared for training? Absolutely. Behind her, tucked against the wall, was her duffel bag with her gear in it.

It wouldn't be an Arrow meeting if there wasn't a little fun, would it?

Please narrate if you have any apparent active spell effects or equipment. Asp has her Character Sheet equipment in her bag except for her enchanted tonfa, which was left at home. Standard tonfa is on hip.

Asp has no apparent spell effects on her. Wits+Occult-1 will trigger Unseen Senses on success.

Vulgar: Color drains from the immediate area and depth perception becomes temporarily skewed, everything seeming to draw in uncomfortably close, making rooms smaller and all but distant objects seem in reach.
Vice: Color drains from Avis and her facial features seem indistinct and grainy, as though her identity is growing less defined.
Virtue: Colors appear more vibrant and everything seems to become grander in scale.

Avis had not been looking forward to this day. Well, not since Lockheart had disappeared, and not since Thanksgiving, the day when the Royal Snake's aspirations were made clear. Or, clearer, maybe. Asp had never claimed to lack aspiration, never claimed to be content as just one of the line and file. Except, oh wait, yeah she had. She'd claimed the Title of Banner Warden, a title that she hadn't lived up to in Avis' opinion. Because, again, if Asp were truly a Banner Warden then she wouldn't be seeking a higher station. But, then again, nothing had officially been said. Nothing had officially been done.

    Yet.

Today would be the day when all would become clear. Today was the day when, for better or worse, a chain of command would form and egos would have to be obliterated. Soon, it would become apparent whether Avis would have to change Die Every Day to Suicide Every Day. To simply die was to be overcome by a force greater than yourself, but to kill yourself? That was the true obliteration of ego, for it was the active annihilation of it, not just passive acceptance of its demise.

Well, she'd see. There would be conflict before all was said and done, for only conflict could lead one to understanding and truth. Hopefully, it would also lead them balance.

Avis nodded to Asp as she walked in, her tennis shoes, not so new anymore, carrying her to the seat opposite the Obrimos. She sank into the chair and pulled two things out of the pockets of her grey track suit: paper and a case of toothpicks. The latter she popped open, setting a pick between her teeth, and then her hands went to the square of paper, her fingers caressing each crease dutifully out of existence while she tried to ignore the uncomfortable spell-shiver coming off of Asp.

When he had initially heard that there was to be a meeting of his Order, Jonokuchi was reserved in his decision whether this would be a good day or a bad day. It had been a long time coming and even though he had met every Talon within the Adamantine Arrows of Sacramento, it had been in a purely training environment. This, sitting around and discussing their future as an Order, was completely different.

It would also no doubt involve clashes of a completely different type. Egos of Magus were such a complex matter. One misstep on any level would result in conflict and even though conflict within the Order was a necessary aspect, not when it was detrimental to the whole.

A sigh. The first of many.

Wearing a dark navy kimono with a thick white sash around his expansive waistline, Jonokuchi could be heard arriving as his staff tapped on the flagstones, aiding his awkward movements and the niggling injuries of his former profession. Seeing both Asp and Avis already present, the stoic Sentinel could not read anything untoward between the two, only noting the lack of conversation. With two particular spells visible in his Pattern, Jonokuchi paused as he reached a chair that resided equally between his fellow Sentinel and the Councillor of his Path. The large Talon offered a bow before taking his seat, getting as comfortable as he could, the bo leaning against the table.

Jonokuchi looked from Avis to Asp and then back again. "Not long until Christmas," was all he offered by way of a conversation piece.

Weavebreaker wasn't far behind Jonokuchi. After all, the price of a cab from the Sanctum to the Circle was no joke and car pooling was practically a must. With a nod of her head she greeted her fellow Arrows and settled down. There wasn't a trace of magic about her, and even the telltale sparks were missing from her aura.

With all that had happened, she had reverted to her old ways when she hid among Banishers and made little use of magic in her daily life. Without having any form of sight up, it became relatively easy to ignore less blatant forms of the supernal and Weavebreaker was fairly good at forsaking curiosity when it came to some of the more blatant forms. Banishers had a knack for preying on curiosity...

"Did you all have a good Thanksgiving?" A smile crept upon her lips. "I think I am still full..."

Animus ducks in, not long after Weavebreaker. One obvious missing face. Yet one more failure, and their last exchange of words still haunted him.

A failed duty, and a debt. Perhaps, with the entire Order assembled, the taint on his honor could be addressed.

Striker had been waiting for this day. Especially since Lockheart had stopped showing up to thigs. The Australian was concerned for his cabalmate of course, but he couldn't believe that he'd been in town six months now without any clear direction. Random patrols and a single training event that lacked any clear goal other than getting to know each other. But since that thing on thanksgiving when Asp pulled everyone together for some simple down to earth service the shaman had been wondering if she had anything in mind to pull them together and get them to work as a group. He was glad for the chat he'd had with her recently. Even though it wasn't specifically about the Adamantine Arrow, he now felt well grounded with what would be the new leadership.

It had been a good day so far. He'd taken the mountain bike for it's first real off road test that afternoon. It was nothing extreme like downhill tracks or anything with major obstacles, but even on the simple flat dirt tracks through the forest he'd come off a few times. His riding jacket was scuffed with dirt and minor scratches but the Honing he'd done just before he'd hit the trails had made sure that, even the times the light riding armour hadn't been enough to protect him, he'd felt his injuries less than usual.

He wheeled his bike through the door to the circle and propped it up against a wall just in the door before finding where the rest of the Arrows were set up. He strode into the kitchen unzipping his jacket, sweating despite the cool weather, his hair was mess and a streak of dirt smudged up his left cheek, but he was smiling and had a spring in his step. He noted his cabal already here with a nod to each of them before looking to Asp and giving her an even wider grin.

"Evenin'" he offered the room before dropping heavily into a chair beside Jonokuchi.

It was going to be a good night.

Mace twined a length of wire around her hand as she walked up to the Circle, feeling the familiar copper warm under her fingers. She was a little bit nervous for the meeting, as she wasn't quite sure what to expect. She hadn't actually been to a meeting of the Arrow since moving to Sacramento. She was dressed for a workout, just in case. It seemed like a good bet, considering it was the Arrow.

She walked in and waved to those gathered. At least she knew everyone at the table. "Hey," she said as she took a seat at the table.

    Asp

"Sure did," Asp replied to Weavebreaker, returning the various nods and smiles and whatnot in kind. She watched Avis's paper intently, plainly interested in what was happening there. She knew Avis did origami, but it wasn't like she'd often had a chance to sit and really watch it. As everyone finally trickled in, she peered at each as they took their seats. Seven seats. Seven warriors.

    Good.

Asp gave everyone a couple of minutes to float any introductions necessary, then got to it*.

"Hey, folks. Thanks for coming. We've got a few things to cover off, and not all of them are pleasant... so I'm going to get to it." Fingers rested on the table. "The Arrow's had some pretty fantastic growth in the city, and I'm really glad to see everyone sticking around and doing good work. We've got some challenges ahead, though, that need to be tackled. The first and most worrisome? Leo's been gone a long time now, and I'll be straight with you: the Heirarch has ordered the Sentinels to lead an investigation into his whereabouts. He's not gone on Sentinel business. He's just... gone."

She looked to Avis, then. She'd seen what Avis could do with Mind and Space. Some battles belonged in the mind - this one was easiest resolved there.

"You're our resident specialist in Mind, Avis. Would you be willing to contact him sympathetically with a telepathic call?"

It might be challenging. Sympathy always was, but it was possible - if he wasn't locked away behind some Ward. But it had to be tried.

For the sake of keeping this thing moving briskly so it doesn't go in the Way of the Thyrsus - remember the 48 hour rule, and that you may post two ahead of the slowest poster. With the scene limit and all that, we'll want to keep this thing going.

*As well, feel free to roleplay any necessary introductions in your next post - I figure almost everyone here knows each other decently by now, so... again, keeping it moving.

The Australian listened with interest as Asp welcomed them and presented the first issue they needed to address. Leo's unknown disappearance was troubling and Asp's idea seemed good provided Avis could get enough sympathy. He didn't know much about that type of magic, but thought he knew how the Archangels might be able to help.

"So there's a bunch of Leo's stuff at our Sanctum. You can use someone's stuff to get a better connection right? I dunno if you wanted to do it now or later but we can get you some of his things if you think it'll help." Striker offered to Avis and Asp.

Striker didn't really know what to do with the situation. Leo had put his things in the largest suite of their sanctum complex and they hadn't seen him since. Come to think of it. I didn't even see him move his stuff in. It was just there one day.
