The University library was once again quiet as Jayant made his way back to the section on religion and mythology, and it had come as a surprise to find that he felt at ease in this place. Maybe it was because he had been so focused on being the Mother's protector, the Mekhet had unwittingly neglected his mental capabilities. True, he was no scholar but Jayant felt that a little knowledge would potentially be of more help these nights than a sharp blade.

Although, he muses, a sharp blade is handy.

And so, with a full belief in his actions and intentions, Jayant settles down under the soft glow of a desk lamp, surrounded by several open books, and jots down as much information he can on Shiva, the Hindu God of Destruction and Transformation, and Gaia, the Greek Creation Goddess and Mother of the Gods. Two deities, utterly different from one another but equally required in the world. It is all about balance and faith, a fine line drawn to gain the correct understanding.
