(C Tears) Watchers in the Night

It was the next night when the Invictus squad made their way back out to the area of the Ridge Motel at dawn. Surveillance was the order of the day - getting into position, finding their man and taking him so they could determine if he was working with anybody else should not be all that difficult.

Right?

On further musing, Hazelton and Saito might have disagreed. It weighed on the Knight's mind that after this was all said and done for, it was on to another mission for the Hound of South Sacramento.

No rest for the wicked.

With a quiet sigh as he pulled his car to a stop about a block from the Ridge Motel, he said, "All right. Let's get into position under the Cloaks and monitor this. No engagement until he's here. A quick and dirty knockout in one of the rooms seems easy enough, unless either of you have a different idea?"

Cold brown eyes flicked from each to each, the Menace pouring off him through the cab of the vehicle. It was a constant reminder of the things he had done so far.

Cruelty.

Violence.

Murder.

That it was all for Society only made it more horrifying.

A new night and hopefully one that would be more productive than the last. Sure, they got some useful information, but it would have been nice to lay this mess to bed last night.

She wore the same black getup as last night, tank top, jeans, boots and leather jacket. But this time she brought her lock picking tools, which Martha had provided a couple years ago. Leaning forward as Baldwin spoke, she listened to his plan.

“Are we starting at the diner or here at the motel? We each taking a point to follow him once spotted?” she asked, wanting to make sure she knew exactly what was going on. The last thing they needed was miscommunication. “Quick knock out works for me, cause something tells me this guy isn’t going down without a fight. If he is not corporative after we’ve detained him, then I can attempt to jump into his mind.”

She pulls out her cell phone and brings his picture up again, passing it into the front seat, making sure Jennifer got a good look at him.

That done, she puts her phone on silent, and pockets it, “Ready to move when you guys are.”

Jennifer was silent for the trip, reflecting on her past nights at the Ridge Motel. Such a different landscape that was to be navigated now, she mused. She listens to Lord Baldwin's appraisal and Lady Sage's question with equal respect and attention. Jennifer adds no further questions or appraisals, curious what Lord Baldwin's views were on Lady Sage's question. When they mentioned the knock out, Jennifer did weigh in.

"Yes, I agree. A quick strike is our best option. "

Jennifer leans over and takes a good look at the picture that Lady Sage offers. Once she had, she gives the Lady a nod.
"Thank you."
She said sincerely. She was careful not to use masquerade breaching terms outside of the haven or Elysium. She knew the coterie would understand.

"Lady Sage, if I may make a suggestion - jump into their minds whenever you need to and it is safe to do so. This matter is taking long enough, and your talents are very valuable for speeding things along and getting to the truth of the matter," Baldwin said, a bit of reverence in his voice. The Fear had value. It was just so... different. In these circumstances, a Mekhet was King. "Let's go ahead and spread ourselves out. One person watching the diner, the next, the parking lot of the motel, and the third, the second floor. All beneath the Cloak, nobody needing to interact - once you see him, pick up the trail. No need to show yourself, just keep him in sight. Once we comes to the second floor, we can take him there."

He looked from Lady to Lady.

"Lady Sage, would you like to observe from outside the diner, and Lady Hazelton, the parking lot? I'll take the second floor."

"Indeed, Lord Baldwin, that location suits me fine. What is our contingency plan shall we be intercepted with our package?" She inquired with some interest. "I was not inside the motel. Does the ... gentlemen who runs the establishment make himself scarce?"

Jennifer also takes a moment to study the motel and look for an outer staircase where one can circumvent the lobby entirely.

“Sounds like a solid plan.” It would be safer to do so once they had him in a secure location. She could break her concentration to make sure he wasn’t trying to kill her or one of her Coterie Mates.

She then nods her head, “Diner sounds great.”

Jennifer raised some good questions, “I would say he is scarce. Sounds like he stops for a couple days, then doesn’t show up for weeks. So here is to hoping this is not one of his nights to disappear.”

"Oh, I'm not anticipating him leaving this building alive," Baldwin said quietly. "I'm perfectly content to leave him among the walking corpses he creates with his drugs. Hell, maybe I'll cripple him and leave him to their... tender mercies."

The smile was positively wicked, fangs and teeth. Lord Baldwin was not a kind man. He was Nosferatu. The delicious horror of a man dying to his own victims?

It was delightful. Eyes flicked to Jennifer Hazelton. Did she understand?

"Follow my lead once we have him in sight and I come out of Cloak. No need to go inside or anything; just avoid cameras and maintain your Cloaks, and everything will be just fine."

He looked from each to each, curious if there were any further questions.

Shall we begin?

Hearing no further responses, Peter said, "All right. Good hunting, then."

Making sure his gear was all accessible, Baldwin opened the door, stepped out and closed it behind him, then found himself a quiet corner to Cloak up and assume his position up on the second floor. Enough delay. It was time to get to this.

Nodding her head, “Good luck” she replies before slipping out of the car.

A quick look around finds herself a little place out of the way, and she begins to call upon the Blood.

That done, she proceeds to make her way over to the diner. Finding herself a place out of the way that allows her a good line of site on the diner and its doors.

Let the games begin.

Jennifer makes a nod of agreement with the plan. She takes a moment to ensure that her cell phone is silented and secured firmly in its hip holster. She secures her purse strap under her jacket to lessen the chances of it making noise and interfering with her attempts at silence. With a nod to her coterie mates, she departs for her assigned route of the parking lot of the motel. Jennifer finds a shadowy area of the parking lot to pull the Cloak of obfuscate around herself. She chooses a spot out of the normal driving path and parking spots, out of the way and hopefully with a line of sight of the main turn in for the parking lot The Nosferatu remains still and keeps a vigilant eye on her assigned spot, scanning for moment and listening for signs of trouble.
