The Seven Stars Motel.

There was nothing wonderful about the Motel 6-ish joint on Blair Street in South Sacramento. It was clean, but out of date; one of those spots where low-end businessmen and vacationing American families went to stay on the cheap before taking flights out of town at the nearby airport.

The rain continued to slam down, the storm only getting worse. Lightning flashed in the sky, followed moments later by the deep rumbles of thunder. There were plenty of places to park, but none of them were right out front of where Ace Larson had sent them. Room 107. It had a rental Civic out front between two big pick-ups. By the time anybody got to the door, they'd be soaked.

Maybe the rain would help wash out the blood leaking from gunshots and knife slashes.

This scene is connected to Cash Game, so no Mana regeneration or Willpower refreshing occurs. Please maintain resource use records and damage tracks.

If allowed, Pepper finishes the pattern restoration for another point of Mana, fully healing one lethal

Pepper sighed at the rain, but walked up to the door - walked, because running just added water splashing onto her legs. She'd be wet, sure, but not soaked all the way through. At least, that had been her intent. Wet and scowling at the discomfort of it, she knocked on the door.

Striker had calmed down by the time they'd got to the Motel. He'd also taken the time to reduce the throbbing in his head and was feeling almost 100 percent again. He refreshed his sight and shield and turned to his old favourite, trying to have complete control over his body to aid in the healing process and quickening his reflexes. Unsatisfied by the spell he tried again, only to let it slip from his grasp, the third try garnered only the weakest amount of power that he could have wanted, but he gave up trying again and let it be.

Self Healing(3 suxx over 2 rolls, -2M), Pulse of the Living World (2), Organic Resilience (2), Body Control (1)

The Shaman followed Pepper to the door, the rain didn't bother him too much, but he wasn't about to go and stand in it intentionally.

"You reckon he'll be here?" He asked Pepper, wondering what her take on the slippery cheater was.

Weavebreaker hugged her body as she walked through the rain, paying little attention to her clothes growing damp or the thunder in the distance. She followed the others, with her eyes cast downward as she watched the droplets strike the wet asphalt and concrete and break apart into countless droplets. It helped take her mind off of the mess the day had become...

Once beneath the shelter the motel structure offered, her eyes slowly surveyed the surroundings. She could feel the water sloshing in her left shoe, and her right only felt a tad dryer. Weavebreaker glanced down to the puddle that was slowly forming beneath her as she came to rest next to Pepper and the others outside 107...

Weavebreaker glanced to Striker, giving a helpless shrug in response to his question. With how everything had been, she wouldn't hold it against Ace if he had not been there. She at least hopped he wasn't a dick and had them knocking on where the supposed insane Obrimos was crashing...

Mace pulled a hood over her head as she made her way to the door. It wasn't that she minded getting wet, per se, antd it wasn't even that the hood would help all that much. More that a drowned rat didn't look intimidating under the best of circumstances. And these were hardly the best of circumstances. Adding to her blundering the spells, she wasn't in the best mood. She joined the others just as Striker was asking his question. "He damn well better be," she said. "Otherwise I'm going to hound him until I find him again. One way or another." Not that she had any idea just how she was going to do that. It wasn't like she had any thing more to go on but what lead them here, to this moment.

Jonokuchi remained silent on the way over, focusing on the pain that had been caused to him and what he had witnessed. Of course, it wasn't the violence that had bothered him but Striker's use of vulgar magic against Sleepers. Punches and kicks like gunshots? They had been lucky.

Rather than falling into a pit of loathing, the Mastigos focused on the pain from the cuts he'd suffered. To anyone watching, Jonokuchi wiped away blood from his nose as he scoured his own health to replenish what he had used; precious mana for those need-to-have moments.

When they reached the motel, Jonokuchi followed behind, the rain soaking him through and washing away the blood that had clotted against his skin. The shield and sight of Space settled on him like an old kimono and he nodded to the others her was ready to continue.

A moment passed.

Then another.

Then, the door creaked open. There was darkness within.

"Step into my parlour."

A light turned on inside, and Ace Larson's cocky grin could be seen beyond.

"Towels in the bathroom, if you wanna dry off."

"That was awful. Thanks for the towels." Pepper went into the bathroom and handed those out to the rest of the team first, then raised a point eyebrow at him. "We good to start?"

Striker grabbed a towel and did a quick job of getting most of the water off himself. He kept the towel and made sure the cut on his arm was clean. Screw it, he'd got hurt giving Ace a clean break out, he couldn't care less about the guy's towels. He leant against the wall and said nothing.

Said the spider to the fly. If Ace thought they were flies, then he was in for a rude awakening. Mace would hold to her word, exactly as she gave it. If he proved to be a threat to any of them, then she'd take action. Woludn't that be interesting.

She followed the others into the room and gave her hair a quick dry with the offered towel. Anything else could wait until later. She leaned against the dresser. "Well, we're here. And you haven't been punched yet. I'd say we're on the right track."
