Blake nods at the praise Verne, murmuring, "Later, we kind of have to get through this current mission." As he hears tweets, he cocks his head as he does his best to gleam the message. He manages to catch something from the sparrow.

As the bird flies off, he focuses on helping those that need help. As Rina reaches out, he grabs the hand and helps pull her up. Blake gives her a nod and prepares to help Bobcat.

"Might need to come this way when we need to leave." He reminds Bobcat as he turns to Verne.

Verne nods, impressed--they'd all made it up onto the ledge in just over three minutes. One wall to go with time to spare. "See? I told you it wouldn't be no thing for the likes of you."

"Nice catch," he says to Blake, having seen him steady Rina's landing on the ledge. He looks at him kind of sideways, wondering if he'd overheard his words with the bird. He blinks a few times before patting him on the back.

What Blake heard from the bird.

With one success, you only understand half of the message: The bird begins with two questions. "These them?" To which Verne nods. "Tell others?" Another nod. And then it says two things you can't make out before saying something else, something about "missing water-birds--no bodies; bloody feathers." (C, 5)

"See something you like?" he asks Rina, watching her take in the scene.

What Rina sees from the ledge.

You see dim headlights, maybe from the patrol vehicle--idling forward around the corner, a few minutes off yet. (1 suxx) There are three sparrows sitting on a wire overhead--maybe it's nothing. Odd to see them congregating in the open at night. (2 suxx) At the far edge of your vision, back near where you left Bobcat's bike, you make out a blur: movement and animal fur--some kind of feral cat, maybe, by its graceful slink. (3 suxx)

Verne grunts as he hefts Bobcat over the final wall.

What Bobcat sees on the other side of the wall.

Somehow you land lightly--soft grass. Thin trees provide light cover and obscure much of your view, but not the flashlight beam twenty yards ahead of you. It's a security guard, a woman, walking her circuit. Doesn't look like she's seen or heard anything yet.

"Alright," Verne says. "Let's hurry up and get the rest of you over this wall. Who's first?"

Rina's now-completely-black eyes scan the area, taking in all the details that appear. The car was the least of her worries. She was sure they could easily make it into the zoo before it got anywhere near them. The birds were an oddity, but...ultimately irrelevant. Either the birds had lost their sense of time, or it was more of the idiots' tinkering with the local animals. Either way, not her problem. The appearance of a cat was...differently a problem. If it was the same one Verne had warned them about, 'Artemis' or whatever her name was, it meant that their leader, the one who got kidnapped was around here. Or it had been given reason to believe he was. Either way, a potential ally and a potential enemy.

Rina looked down, gauging the distance from where she was crouching to the bottom of the wall, then hops down, attempting to land without making too much noise, and alerting any security.

  6 suxx to not get spotted! (I assumed a specialty in Moving in Darkness, as well as light shoes as equipment, applied.)

Blake follows Rina's example and drops down on the other side of the ledge, doing his best to land silently. He stays crouched as he waits for the others to get down off the ledge as well. He did wonder if the others that the sparrow mentioned could be the rest of Verne's group.

Verne gets a boost from Richard over the last wall, lands lightly, crowded together with Bobcat, Blake, and Rina behind a few thin trees.

The guard is a woman, squat and stocky. She stops as is if she's heard something, takes a quick look around . . . dismisses the sound. She scratches her ass and continues on her route.

It's a full minute before Verne lets anyone talk. "Holy fuck!" are his first words. He crosses himself as an afterthought. He leaps up onto the wall and pulls Richard over.

"Well . . ." He coughs, rubs the back of his head. "Now we know where the guard is. What's next?"

Richard stood back and watched as Rina made the leap towards the ground. He inches over to the ledge and glanced down trying to judge the depth of the fall and to estimate how badly it would hurt if he landed incorrectly, at this point remaining stealthy was only an after thought. He cups his hands just below his groin to boost Verne over the wall before turning around and making a short hop as Verne returns the favor. Once on the other side he catches a glimpse of the security guard as she is walking away. Glad that they weren't spotted yet, Richard is now feeling more confident that they will be able to get this done without making too much of a fuss.

"Let's not rush anything. A zoo most definately has cameras littered damn near everywhere. Even if they don't pick up on our face if they see a group of goons breaking into the zoo on footage we will be on the mourning news in no time"

Rina nods at the others quietly, and starts to speak, keeping her voice low so that no one can hear. "This is when we split up. I will take Mister... she indicates Richard, his name evading her, then tries to pass it off by moving on. "And go retrieve the blood sample. The rest of you will go convince another creature to give you a clean sample." She pauses as a new thought occurs to her. "I will also retrieve a clean vial for you to place it within. Afterwards, you will go speak to the ghoul one, and I will go replace the vials." She nods again. A solid plan, by her estimation.
