Since Terri had gotten the bottles, Morgan looked for "ammo." Anything small and round-ish should do in a pinch. Getting down wasn't much of a problem, the raccoon had fallen from higher places, usually intentionally. Searching through the trash for good ammunition was a little more difficult.

But it turns out someone was throwing out fishing weights for some reason. They were small and light enough to work as ammo. The shape wouldn't help them in flight but it wouldn't hinder either, "Heh-heh, these will do I g-guess...Note-to-self, buy large metal-marbles or iron ore chunks for Terri." she mumbled the second part but wasn't quiet about it.

Getting back up to the roof was easy enough, her fellow Steepscrambler didn't need to worry about her at all. She presented her find to Terri, "Are these okay for ammo? Nada find better without searching deeper...Personally do not like dumpster diving anymore now that I can buy food."

Climbing back up without much fanfare, Terri reached the roof whereupon she lined up the bottles not too far away; at least for her anyway. She was using her trusty slingshot and the range was slightly better than that of sheer arm power.

"Thanks but I always come prepared," Terri chuckled, plucking a marble from her pocket and loading it into the pouch.

"Watch this.

Glamour flowed through her arm and suffused the slingshot, the change instantaneous. It's wooden, Y-shape became like a magnificent yet tiny oaken tree in her firm grip, golden sap oozing over her hand. As the Beast drew back the sling, it stretched like a pulled tendon because that is what it was; the wing tendon of a vileshrike, shaped and molded to provided immense power, overcoming the limitations of a normal, mundane slingshot could ever provide.

Without aiming, Terri released the pouch, sending the marble straight and true, knocking over the glass bottle, where the drop caused it to smash upon the roof.

She lowered her arm and looked towards Morgan, urging her kith-cousin to have a shot. Secretly, Terri was eager to see how good the Twilit Page is.

Morgan gawked at the sight of a token slingshot. She thought there was little that could surprise her in the world anymore, but that was totally unexpected. When token weapons came to mind she expected medival stuff, not a slingshot. It took her a moment to realize that Terri was offering it to her so she could take a turn. She also had to close her jaw.

She giggled nervoulsy and blushed,"Sorry just I really did nada anticipate a slingshot as a possible token artifact, heh-heh. Never forseen as possible. I will be most cautious with manipulating it," she accepted the slingshot and gave it a few practice pulls to see what she was doing and how it worked.

She didn't poor Glamour into it as she'd no idea what the social protocol was for using someone's token was. Instead, she tried taking careful aim for a moment before taking a shot at the bottles.

There was a pinging noise in the alley below, the sound of the marble bouncing of something metallic. Morgan cringed a little at that. "Heh-heh, first time always miss, heh. Took a while for-for me to get the throwing knives," she offered the slingshot back to Terri. Twas her turn after all.

Terri was a little surprised when Morgan had a go with the token, which really wasn't the intention but the Beast was too friendly to qualm about it. She trusted Morgan enough that the Twilit Page wasn't about to go and break one of her prized possessions.

"It takes a little getting used to but it certainly backs a punch, especially if you understand one particular Contract."

Giving back the slingshot, Morgan would note how the sap had dripped across the hand that had held the token, which was quite repungent and off-putting. When it was in her hand, Terri drew back another marble and this time took a moment to aim at the bottle Morgan had attempted to hit. Once again, she released the sling and the marble pinged off the bottle, knocking it over. Satisfied, Terri held out the slingshot, offering another turn if Morgan wanted one.

Morgan made a face at the feeling of the sap seeking onto her hand. When the smell hit her nose, well, "Ooogie, blah," she stuck out her tongue and began waving her hand, trying to get the stuff off. She hadn't even tried turning it on and it did that? Gross and rude, plus the stuff wasn't coming off either. Mental note, always feed tokens Glamour.

She still noticed that Terri's accuracy was still quite good. Made sense, don't pick a weapon that you don't know how to use and all that, "You're good with that, heh-heh." Morgan was also pretty sure she had the contract being mentioned. Personally, the Twilit Page felt it best to save Favored Fate for a critical situation. Especially since its only good once a day as a boost.

When Terri offered Morgan the slingshot a second time, the raccoon eyed it warily. She then looked back up at Terri, a confused look on her face as she spoke: "Um, is it gonna slime me again? Or do I need to, heh, feed it Glamour to keep it from doing that? Um, and, heh, not sure of the eti-eti-eten...proper people behavior for using someone else's token is, heh." She did at least look sheepish when she admitted this, almost rubbing the back of her head as she did so. But stopped herself before she rubbed the sap into her hair.

Terri couldn't help but laugh, shaking her head. "No, it only happens the once, just a little drawback for using it. Believe me, you wouldn't want to use it without giving it some glamour. That really stings."

The Beast moved closer to Morgan, gliding behind her and assisting with the slingshot. "The thing to remember is that every token and hedgespun raiment wants to be used, to be seen. It's in their nature. With the slingshot, it's all about the power to go over and above the limitations, the expectations of such a simple 'toy'. Have another go. Trust me. It'll be better."

As Terri stepped back, glamour flowed through her words, surrounding Morgan and aiding her in the next shot.

Just a note, the slingshot provides +4 bonus. Terri has activated Companion's Boon, gifting Morgan with +3 bonus to a single dice roll this scene

Morgan smiled in relief, "Heh, okay. Guess I can try it again then. Good to know that about tokens, if I ever find one, heh." Accepting the token once more, Morgan was careful to THIS time feed the slingshot before using it, mumbling to it, "Sorry for not feeding you afore." It might be silly, but talking was how she'd started herself on the Contract of Elements.

Morgan let out a surprised laugh that she actually managed to hit a bottle. She felt something extra and guessed someone may have helped her a little. That the bottle wobbled around before falling over wasn't as important as that she actually hit it. She smiled at Terri, offering back the slingshot, "Thank you. Heh, you are a better shot though I believe."
