Duncan grinned and gave a shrug as Mal mentioned him knocking Jeffrey out on purpose and then making the rule that she had to be conversed with. He didn't answer her though. It was far too funny.
Downing his beer, Duncan watched with crisp-blue eyes as oaths were made with the King and words bandied. He was happy to wait. The Constable's duty was to always be aware, and right now he was a little unsure of a couple of things. A mental note was made.
"Sure," Duncan replied as Marcus elbowed him, still grinning. "How was me letting you win just now? Invigorating enough for you?"

As the serious talk breaks down into another game of Calvinball, the summer courtiers have a rough and rowdy time at the Hunter's backyard barbecue. The keg lasts until well into the night, and their host keeps the grill hot for any second helpings or gooey s'mores that might be needed as the sun gets lower in the sky. This summer might be over, but it will not be forgotten.
