Gliding across the black-marbled floor, Tyria regards the works within Aurum's duffel with aloof appraisal. After a moment, she nods, “Very well. I assume this fulfills your prophecy.” Not quite a question that it could have been asked as.

“Follow me,” Tyria states as she turns and heads towards the plain door on the right hand side, opening it reveals only darkness. Unfinished earth surrounds stairs only visible from the light of the Athenaeum proper and a lonely shaft of light at the bottom of the stairs is their apparent destination. “To do any more, Autum and Miach, you must unveil the world wreathed in Life. If you cannot form this imago yourself, ask for someone to bestow it upon you.”

It obviously wasn't his place to comment, and Miach didn't say a word as the Curator passed judgement over Aurum's offering. If it was satisfying for her, then it was satisfying, period.

At her invitation, the Enchanter walked toward the door she designated, one that he had never seen open before. It seemed to go even deeper... towards the bowels of the Earth. Hopefully figuratively.

Her request for a specific Unveiling Practice was somewhat unexpected, but it wasn't anything he couldn't do, and with but a few Words of Focus, the aspirant Setian quickly granted himself a deepened Sight. While it was extremely informative, the Medstar usually refrained from using it. Too much sickness in this world, alas...

Looking toward his fellow mystagogue Aurum ( Yog-Sothoth ), he raised an eyebrow in a silent question. Did she need his help ?

"Yes, thank you." Aurum said to the Curator's statement covering both her bases. She fell in behind the Curator when she indicated that they should follow.

Aurum caught Miach's gaze after the Curator's instructions and nodded.

"Yeah, I'll need help with that," she said with a sheepish grin. "I'm used to seeing things from the supernal perspective along with death or examining matter."

She accepted the gift that Miach bestowed upon her and blinks rapidly while slowing her step. She takes a few moments getting used to the new sensation of seeing people so alive and vibrant for once. She could see the strength and power of life and it was an unfamiliar and strange feeling to get used to. After seeing the world around her in varying shades of death and decay from structures to the very people that walked around her, being reminded that life is there too left her feeling uneasy for some reason.

"Trippy...thanks." She said with a smile.

All around Aurum and Miach, life thrums. It is an awareness that expands all around them – from the bugs burrowing into the earth as they descend into the Mithraeum to the stalwart Bull descending with Miach – life marches to a beat that is mirrored in their own heart. Seeing the world through Life's Gaze is as exhilarating and joyful as it could be intimidating. For the Moros who is so used to seeing the sombre touch of death even in a fresh vase of flowers, the sheer manic shade of Life might be disorienting. The Magi are as cognizant of the push and pull of the blood within their own veins as they are of the others.

Only Tyria Primoria is the eye in the frenzied hurricane of Life. Neither Miach or Aurum can see the hair growing ever so slowly on her head, or the nails on her fingertips slowly push forward. Life, and its march ever forward, doesn't touch the Curator.

At the bottom, beneath the shaft of sunlight, is an altar of basalt. On it, gleaming in the sun is a silver-tray; a couple of tiny grape-leaf wrapped packages sit on it, meant to be eaten. Near, is a wicked looking dagger. “Beneath the Unconquerable Sun and protected by the auspice of Mercury, we gather to witness the dawning of knowledge in the Souls of the children of Truth,” Tyria words are lined with a reverence that many would not believe she holds.

“Aurum, Miach, knowing of our protocols is not the same as understanding them deep in your own Awakened soul. You must be ready to undergo the truth that I will share with you this morning.” A pause, “If you are ready, take the sacrament and eat it to begin your journey.”

The elegant Curator was strangely free from the cycle of Life, and Miach was extremely puzzled by that unknown phenomenon. As he made his way down, he tried to look at the woman as much as he dared without seeming rude, trying to understand how it could be so.

Once at the bottom though, his focus shifted from the woman to the food, and the dagger. Once again, it didn't seem his place to speak, and the Acanthus kept quiet. Tyria Primoria's words sounded ominous, and Miach didn't want to do anything rash, so he let her words sink in him, and thought about it long and hard. He felt strangely calm.

You are never ready. But you still have to move on.

The moment of hesitation passed, and he seized the fruit slowly, but steadily. He was now determined. No going back now.

Sylvan followed the Curator and gathered Mystagogues to the location of the Ceremony. His own initiation had been a private event with his Theonom but he wasn't surprised that different caucuses practiced somewhat differently. What was most important was that the experience was intimate and that the initiate had the opportunity to learn without interruption.

Sylvan simply stood and watched quietly as the two Mystagogues took their first step into the greater mysteries.

Aurum took in everything around her on their journey downward. The atmosphere and the cavern-like Mithraeum, when combined with the Curator's words gave a solemn feel to the occasion that even Aurum was impressed by. She understood the wisdom in the Curator's words because experiencing something is far different from studying or reading about it.

Silently, the young woman stepped forward as instructed and ate her portion of the sacrament. She then stepped to the side and waited further instructions. The cybergoth was grateful that she didn't need ceremonial robes or anything herself.

Aurum and Miach's intense gaze seems to go unnoticed by the Curator. Her unflappable nature presides; perfectly retaining that schooled demeanor Miach and Aurum know very well. They are able to identify the standard combination of Unveiling and Shielding Practices on her pattern, but that is the whole of it. Nothing suggests to them the answer to the mystery of why Life does not touch Tyria Primoria.

Sylvan and Othello, granted the ability to watch the proceedings, are ignored. They factor not into the Mystery that both Magi will be undergoing.

The Bull by Miach's side taps its right hoof against the earthen floor.

The berries within the Sacrament burst into bright flavor balanced by the slight bitter taste of the grape-leaf. Its taste settles on the tongue of the initiates suffusing them with a feeling of warmth and joining. As Aurum and then Miach take their sacraments, Tyria reaches forward and touches their forehead.

Unseen senses flare as the taste that lingers on the tongue enhances, deepens and layers over the Unveiling Practice of Life that hums on their patterns. The hurried feeling of the March of Life takes on a glorious tenor to each Mage after Tyria's attempt to unveil the very stuff of Creation to either*.

“As two wings must work together to allow us to fly, so too must you both work together to Sacrifice our noble beast. Without working together, the Mysterium cannot fly.”

Tyria sets down the tray and offers Aurum and Miach the dagger glinting against the sun.

“Watch, take in the Bull's Sacrifice, and understand.”

The new layer of Sight that Tyria granted Miach didn't detract from the flow of stimuli in his five senses. Sight, of course, but the sound of his beating heart, the smell of the noble Bull, the taste of the Sacrament, and the cold touch of the dagger, all worked their own part to enhance this experience to a whole new level.

The Curator's words were barely registered, but Miach hardly needed them to know what was to come. Seizing the blade, he vaguely remembered what Jaq had said, in another world, eons ago, and prepared to slash the vein quickly. He was now only waiting on his second wing ( Aurum ) to fly.

Othello watches the rite, knowing that while this may be way above his level, he would do this himself one day. While he understood that animals like this were slaughtered for meat and the process was ghastly, he hoped this procedure would be humane.

Also, he hoped this bull wouldn't go to waste. He liked his steaks au poivre.
