The phone number of a fellow Mennina sits on Molly's phone. One known as Slick among the People. Molly's trip to Sacramento was uneventful. Looks can be deceiving and trains don't give passerby's much opportunity to examine the people in them. Though humanity in a confined space does have a certain..smell.

It wasn't her preferred way to travel, certainly, but Molly was in no place to argue. She didn't have the strength to drive directly from Oregon and even if the idea of running as a wolf nightly appealed to her, Molly was not in the mood to avoid so many territories or drag out her hunt anymore than neccessary.
She had a place to be and someone important to meet.
Hence, the train. All her worldly possessions were in her backpack, an olive green pack that any experienced hiker could appreciate. In fact, all her clothing screamed survival expert, even if her appearance didn't. Stick thin, barely able to lift the bag, in her mid-sixties. A smoker. All these things screamed 'Don't go into the woods!' but Molly was of different stock.
It was in her blood. Literally.
Stepping off the train at Downtown Sacramento's Metro station, Molly set the backpack before making the important phone call.

After her brief conversation with Chantay, Molly was acutely aware that she was out of safe territory. Securing her pack, Molly began to walk from the train station and hike her way west, picking up a map from the station to find the best route to the street she was to meet Slick.

|
|
|
The fastest route to the west across the river is simply following the road west. Well north west and possibly walking on a road. To the south the next bridge is marked as under construction and even further south down the river is another bridge. Around Molly the crowds of Sacramento move about intent on their goals. The occasional person flinching and looking away should they meet prolonged eye contact with Molly.

Folding the map away, the Rahu began striding with as much purpose as she could manage, determined to make it to her meet with Chantay as quickly as she could. Focused, that would be a good word to describe the older lady. Her gaze ensured people did not bar her way, steely grey crosshairs on anyone that lingered too close or decided to block her passage.
She really wanted a cigarette. Now really wasn't the time.

Around Molly the crowd of humanity ignores the elderly women with the angry gaze. Except for those who make the mistake of looking her in the eyes, they look down and move away. Every now and then though, a member of the herd stops and looks intently at Molly. Then moves on with their day. All well dressed in the latest fashions and jewelry.

It would appear, Molly thought as she hiked west, that the herd favors fashion over function.
She had been a housewife for so long that the idea of fashion and dressing splendidly were abhorrent to the Rahu. Obviously, she used to possess several nice outfits but they were kept for either marriages or funerals. They were never used for everyday chores.
Or surviving, which is what everyday since her First Change had become.
Although, it didn't matter if one was wearing high heels or bare feet. In one of her snares, both were fair game.
Now, that thought made Molly smile wryly.

It had taken a little bit, both to assemble various packmates and to get down to the appointed meeting place from Sacramento's northern reaches. But in fairly decent order a Grand Cherokee, packed full of Granite Watchtower wolves pulls up to the appointed street corner. Slick doesn't kill the engine as it arrives. Even if the Pure weren't patrolling as aggressively out here anymore it was still a bit too close to downtown for her comfort.
So she left it idling as she stepped out of the vehicle, eyes sweeping across her surroundings to see if she could pick out Molly.
Kelreth has requested that the incoming wolves roll Perception as well.

The passenger door is open almost before the car has halted, and Firebringer immediately bounces out, scanning the crowd just as intently as his beta.
He didn't know what Molly looked like, but at the moment it didn't particularly matter. They were in hostile territory; attack could come at any moment, which made giving an early alert critical. Better that at least one person keep lookout who wasn't distracted with other tasks.

Tony pulled the door back on the middle of the SUV, leading the other members of Granite Watchtower out as he did. The Iron Master took his place by the side of his Beta, knowing her place was by the side of the Alpha, and scanned the crowd. One thing was for sure, wolves were easy to spot among the sheep.
