The word on the street. Sometimes, it meant nothing, the garbage and bullshit that a city's underbelly could produce. One drug-addled fuckhead says something crazy to someone who doesn't spot it for what it is, and all of a sudden the whole city is going crazy. But sometimes, there's more to it. Sometimes, there are nuggets of truth, wheat among the chaff...
...and then there is what the Awakened hear, which is the chaff that isn't really chaff at all. It just takes a bit more knowledge. A bit more Wisdom.
The buzz? A fella named Ace Larson is rocking the underground poker circuit. And he's starting to make waves, waves that touch the Awakened world. He's lucky. Too lucky. The kind of lucky that Acanthus smell and smile, knowing it intimately themselves. It might've been okay, but the waves are hitting the wrong shores, the kind of shores that hit back. No criminal gambler ever liked a cheat, and that was what it smelled like.
Ace Larson had problems. And so did the Awakened community if he really was one of them.
"Lady Luck is my bitch." Direct quote. At least, if you believe what you hear on the streets.
That can't be good.
The Adamantine Arrow and the Guardians of the Veil's stronghold, the Circle of Creation - that was where the action was at tonight as the Pentacle thought about where to go. Check or bet?
Characters with Streetwise 1+ know the buzz above. Characters without have just heard there's a problem about town and that there's a meeting here.
