Avis had followed her Cabal inside the Circle, taking up the rear out of habit more than anything else, and then found a pillar near an arcade to lean against. Her teeth worried at her toothpick automatically, the taste of cinnamon dancing on her tongue while she looked over the aura's of the assembled mages. Leo was definitely pissed and on edge, she could probably tell that even without the Sight but it was nice to be sure. Nothing else really jumped out at her, or not any specific aura anyway. No, what stole at her attention was the woman in a Halloween costume eating popcorn. What the actual fuck. Who did that? They were all about to witness two Masters rip each others' literal Wills apart with manifestations of their Supernal Souls. Normally Avis wasn't one for much ceremony, but that seemed excessively flippant. Definitely odd, and odd was not always good. In fact, it kinda struck her as a diversionary tactic. Did the masked woman (as if that wasn't enough) have something to hide?

Faith wasn't really a suit type, and definitely not a pants type, but for some occasions she kept a formal set. Official talks with the investors. Visits from superiors. Changes in hierarchy. Stuff like that.

Because, you know, it's easier to run away in pants.

So when she arrives (using her blue Volkswagen Beetle) again at the Circle of Creation, she's dressed formally, even with heels put on and the silver pendant shown while it's normally hidden, and there's a handbag in her hands with all the mess the woman's bag is usually filled with like keys, tissues, make-up stuff, a handmirror, a phone, a lighter and cigs (she might not smoke but hello, which Obrimos worth his fire didn't carry some source of it anyway?), a bottle of water (because you never know when you need something to drink... or transmute).

Faith was praying silently that the events today would keep civil and she wouldn't have to use her bag's content for magic. Duel Arcane was the Gold Law. Unshakable. Absolute.

Yet, if Goldies were as sure as to send someone to take over as a Hierarch, what don't they have the gall to do? Was even Aquinas alright today? She didn't hear of him much after the Field Day, but hell, you just can't expect a Magisterium candidate to report to some Neophyte. Still, it was troubling.

One quick look around the place. Some new faces. A lot of known faces present already. Some earned a nod. Some - a wave. Some - a quick smile of a greeting.

Faith was nervous.

Seeing Ixidor talking with the older (oldest?) Arrow - what was his name? Aaaani...Animus, yeah - she approaches them.

Avalon and her walking-stick. Avalon and her blue Pictish whorls, bangles, feathers, and accoutrements. Is it because Avalon is truly a hippie or does she wear all of it to mask herself underneath costume? Has anyone noticed or considered the reason she wore what she did? At this point, with one mask ripped off, it hardly seems to matter.

The Hierarch looks weary, older somehow, as though she suddenly passed Tyria Primoria in age.

Avalon's lips are drawn into a thin line and her features fight a grimace. She looks at no one but the center of the room, the dueling field, passing by the gaze of a Consilium that has abandoned her. In juxtaposition to Aquinas, she is not full of the righteous purpose he holds. She is filled with indignation and Pride. Avalon will not simply step down, she will not simply go into the night to pass into memory and parable. She is a Hierarch and will fight like one.

He watched Avis, then Asp, peel off. Amazons, yo. Gettin' their Adamantine on. Funny. Wasn't he the one leaning on the wall at the edge last time they were here? Eyebrows bobbed in punctuation to the smile that matched Asp's. Do your thing, girl. Try not to get Fired at. Honey Badger was talking to Principal Ari. Seemed about right.

He watched mages get pulled into orbits around The Big Dogs. True Fact: You can catch just as much about what's the haps by who's talking to who. At least, that's what he told himself. Because no urge to run up on the handful he knew.
