The corner of Bell street and Lancing Way is a deserted sort of place. There are a couple houses about a hundred yards away but that's it. The crossroads is surrounded by a small amount of trees and both the streets are silent with no pedestrians in sight.

Sparse street-lights provide scant illumination, the night is quiet with an occasional car making its way, the buzz of insects and smell of flowers permeating the air.

This is two nights after the previous post. You start with your average Vitae pool and may hunt if you wish (Str + Subt or Man + Pers). You regain 1 WP but it was full for all of your toons anyway. As always, please mention your equipment and the way of getting to the crossroads. Anabella has rented a shabby car for the night (I'll leave the description and model to Princess) and will arrive in it.

The car was surprisingly good looking for how crummy it was, a shiny little commuter car that was made with pride at least 15 years prior, but damned if scrubbing it thoroughly didn't make it look nice. Watching the very short driver squirm with the seat all the way forward, with a stack of pillows providing an extra boost, might not have been the most comforting thing in the world, but she seemed oddly calm as she just barely obeyed various rules of traffic. And she was probably just trying to fit in with all the other cars on the road, or she'd have driven right past more than just the two stop signs so far.

If the grim grumbler in back, or the quiet fellow with the glasses in the passenger seat had any objections, well, they should have offered to drive with more enthusiasm in the first place.

She rolled right up to the intersection in question and stopped completely. She was even probably there at the right time. So now was time to wait, or possibly to hear helpful (or unhelpful) suggestions from one of her compatriots.

If Roderick was restless, it was only because of how wrong the situation was. He keeps shifting in his seat, looking through the side windows and the back window, trying to see something in the shadows that pass by. If it was possible for the hairs to stand on the back of his neck, it just might. Going to a location at someone else's direction, folding into their larger and more aware force, following the direction of someone who had no reason to allow you to live to see the next night? Ya, everything is just peachy.

Roderick can only hope that Redfill got his message and had the chance to put things into action. Otherwise, if things go wrong, it will be just the three of them.

Anabella yells after Luke, "Wait, you forgot something!" in an improvised moment of hoping he will, at some point ever, not just run off and do his own thing in an impulsive and unhelpful manner.

It was a moment of reflection where she realized that is exactly the sort of thing she does.

"Well, you may come up to the front then. Our friend has apparently forgotten that we are going to be driving somewhere and we still have work to do." she inquires of the brooding Roderick in the back of the car.

"We are dealing with thieves who are rumored to have abilities beyond the ordinary. We should stay together this time. Do you have anything to say?"

The revving of the engine another car appears. It's a dark-blue fairly beat-up Toyota Land Cruiser. It drives right up to Ana's joke of a vehicle and the driver rolls down his window: it's the guy who was checking the exterior of the bar for Daggers:

"Hey, nice ride! And you didn't chicken out. You guys ready? Hey, where's four-eyes? Taking a piss or something?"

There are two more men in the car with him. Both are burly with closely-spaced eyes and a look of perpetual displeasure frozen on their faces. They could be brothers.

Roderick stayed in the back, about to respond when the other truck rolled up. He instinctively reaches for his gun in his jacket but doesn't pull it out.. Yet. He carefully watches the group in the other truck before speaking softly, taking advantage of the advanced hearing the two of them had. "Keep your eyes open and ready for anything. Trust none of them." The warning given, Roderick focused on keeping a close eye on Daggers' crew.

She offers the grim gentleman in the backseat a simple nod and shrug, before the vibrant fellows in the next car over are given their own response.

"Or something. He should be with us before we drive or he will not get paid. How far is our destination?" Ana pronounces, wondering just how long this was going to take - and whether that silly little shadow was going to contribute or play around in the dirt all day.
