(Boxing Final) Asp v. Reverb

The little Arrow rookie stepped under the rope. This was the final, and after overcoming Striker and fighting Leo to a stand-still, she was ready to see this through.

"You and me, huh? Cool. All set?" Asp asked, hopping to and fro from one foot to the next. "Have a good match, man."

When Reverb was all set, Asp would engage him for the title.

Vincent stepped up to the ring but did not enter. He had a couple of ground rules. "Two things. Can we both agree to no vulgar? Cause I don't getting punched in the face, just not by paradox. And two.." his concern turned to a little grin. "how about we go tape only, no gloves?"

Asp raised an eyebrow. "The rules are no vulgar magic. And why tape only?" She grinned right on back.

"Gloves aren't really my style. And the others weren't Arrows." Was he bragging? Maybe a little.

Asp shrugged, taking her gloves off. "If you really want to, I guess?" she said, tossing the gloves to the ground. Bit weird, really.

One of these days, she'd have to ask him about the mauling of his face. That might be an awesome story.

"Alright." He quickly took off the gloves and stepped in to the ring, flexing his fingers. Squaring off opposite Asp, he brought his fists up and nodded. "Ready."

He was coming in hard and fast. Asp's arms deflected most of the damage, one of the swings clipping her. She snapped a hard shot off, one that got some purchase.

There was a lovely sound of wet celery smacking a counter top when Asp connected.

Not letting up, Vincent kept at her. Jabs slipped into the mix of hooks and upper-cuts, trying to but unsuccessfully breaking Asp's guard.

There it was. Her armor easily deflected his blows. She saw her opening, pivoted on her heel, and threw herself into her next punch, which slammed firmly, squarely into his unguarded torso.
