Night fell, stomachs rumbled, and VT rolled out to get food. Then argued about what to get, finally deciding on Chinese, and made a stop for Indian anyway. Hey, compromise was important, right? Well, eventually they'd figure out the best way to communicate and co-exist together but that took time. And more arguments over what to get for take out. It was all a process, persistent yet always changing. It was exciting.
At times the others made Avis feel self conscious, or angry, and usually cagey, but she also felt happier than she could remember being for a long time. Perhaps it was too early to call the rest of the Veiled Threats friends, but they were something, and she cherished that. There was a sense of comfort with the others that she had no where else and ultimately that was why she'd abandoned the idea of joining company with the First Talon. Idly she wondered how Leo and the Archangels were doing while she got a glass of water for everyone and the others set up the feast they'd collectively purchased.
