The other woman's response was unexpected to say the least. Yuki didn't know if her Priscus was just completely unhinged or just unstable. She definitely did not react in an acceptable manner befitting her station, because Invictus do not ever threaten Invictus Knights in public.

Unlike her Priscus it seemed, Yuki could control herself and her responses and creating a scene in public court after the Prince had warned them to get along in public was not a command that Yuki was going to ignore. There would be proper ways to have this addressed especially when they could speak more freely behind closed doors. The other woman's childish temper tantrum would be addressed in due time.

"Of course not Reeve Connery we are honored by your presence,"
Yuki said politely. "The interruption to your evening was regrettable, but we would certainly be delighted to join you."

"Lady Sage It was a pleasure," she said in response to the other Lady's departure.

At the direction from the Reeve, Yuki lead the way to the indicated office so that the official could handle the situation in a discrete manner. She patiently waited for the Reeve and others to situate themselves.

Yuki didn't know if her Priscus was just completely unhinged or just unstable and unable to moderate her emotions in any way. She definitely did not react in an acceptable manner befitting the knight's station, because Invictus do not ever threaten Knights in public.

Despite this, Yuki realizes that there is more to this situation than a clear case of disrespect and the nature of the two women's relationship is more than a little complicated and the fact that Madame Star's inexperience in the workings of the First Estate etiquette doesn't help matters either. It will likely take some time for adjustment for the two of them to work out an acceptable working relationship and Yuki's deflection move didn't serve to smooth things over. Again Yuki had her slightly catty nature to thank for that, her sire's bloodline was only partly to blame for that.

Furthermore, this was exacerbated when Sir Baldwin jumped defend her. Yuki was grateful that her colleague came to her aid, it was sweet, but it didn't help defuse the situation and that is what was needed now.

While the other woman's response was unexpected to say the least, Yuki was completely unfazed by Velma's childish tantrum. She smiled faintly, thankfully just managing to keep the amusement out of it, because unlike her Priscus it seemed, Yuki could control herself and her responses and creating a scene in court after the Prince had warned them to get along in public was not a command that Yuki was going to ignore.

"I thank the Priscus for her kind words of concern, however they are not necessary. I have lived through not just one, but the civil wars of two countries and all the fall out that happens amongst our kind. I am more than confident in my ability to handle the streets of Sacramento. And judging from the approaching gentleman we will have the opportunity to further discuss your etiquette."

Yuki turned her attention to the Reeve when he arrived and spoke. She picked up on his jovial yet powerful manner similar to the manner the Prince had, these two men seemed to have a lot in common perhaps?

"Of course not Reeve Connery we are honored by your presence,"
Yuki said politely. "The interruption to your evening was regrettable, but we would certainly be delighted to join you."

"Lady Sage It was a pleasure,"
she said in response to the other Lady's departure.

"Good evening, Lady Sage," Sir Baldwin said.

And then he felt it. He understood, now, why Sage had fled so suddenly after saying her piece at Star.

A Beast of holy shit proportions, three hounds of hell breathing down his back and reminding him that he was nothing but prey. It was an overwhelming urge to be gone from here that compounded on top of his natural desire to be on his way home. Fucking Velma Star, rolling in and stirring up shit - what idiocy was the Priscus of the Rose playing at?

At least Ladies Sage and Saito knew what needed to be done.

"Reeve Connery, it is an honour," he agreed cordially, his eyes taking in the smirk. The Menace was not being mollified one bit by it. At his suggestion that they adjourn to his office, the Knight replied, "Of course." He followed along gracefully, remaining next to Lady Saito as he went.

Velma was slightly taken aback when she was interrupted by Peter Baldwin, she was definitely not expecting someone else to intrude in the conversation she was having with her clanmate in Elysium…

Velma took a step back when she noticed the furious Nosferatu, his menacing aura didn’t help either. The Succubus managed to keep her cool, the Ravager though smelled opportunity. Being a Nosferatu with a menacing aura was probably useful in some situations but not in Elysium, and not after interrupting a conversation between a Priscus and her clanmate, especially when said Priscus’ authority was being so blatantly undermined.

The songstress pulled both her hands upfront, palms opened as if to defend herself from the Nosferatu and his threats, she was no combatant, but she would do her best if violence erupted. When she noticed the Reeve arriving the Daeva felt the unwelcome press of the three headed monstrosity, when he touched her back it carried through like a jolt of electricity through her spine. Velma looked back over her shoulder, clearly worried, but there was definitely the underlying sense that she had been slighted in some way. It just showed.

”Reeve Connery!” She lowered her arms. Relief and worry mixed together, she wasn’t quite sure what the Reeve was about to do. What she knew was that he had his best friend front on… which meant he was here for blood, Velma knew that, and it scared her. She had all the reasons to.

”Introductions?” There was a sudden pause as if to ascertain no one else was going to threaten her. There was an eyebrow raised at Daniella’s words… and when she left Velma made sure she remained silent quietly observing her move away from the scene while following her with her head, slowly. Seriously?

”Well Reeve, this is Lady Knight Saito, recently arrived in town, member of clan Daeva, Knight of the Order of the Throned Wreath.” There was a small pause.

”She voiced something about being able to offer some lessons in etiquette to her Priscus. I would rather say, announced, since we are in Elysium.” Nothing like putting things into perspective first.

”This gentleman here is Sir Baldwin, recently arrived in town, not a member of clan Daeva, member of clan Nosferatu, Knight of the Order of the Thorned Wreath.” The Succubus pauses for a moment giving emphasis to this entire mess. ”I believe he felt he had a word to say about how the Priscus of clan Daeva conducts her business with her clanmates…"

"It was difficult to understand after he threatened me in Elysium though."

"I’m sure that’s why you are here?”
That was a rhetorical question of course.

”I trust you have already met Lady Sage.” The tone of her voice carried the poisonous bile of the Ravager. Velma’s face turns to follow the Mekhet to where she was going.

”I believe she felt entitled to some explaining by the Priscus of clan Daeva as well… but I’m not sure she will be staying to hear it… respectfuly though Reeve, I think she has more important stuff to do.” There was a shrug, clearly Daniella was missing some of the finer points of etiquette. It was up to the Reeve to feel slighted after she decided to handwave herself out of the situation after so clearly stirring the pot. Velma knew she did felt slighted, maybe she would bring it to the Judex… her sponsor.

After introductions were made she followed to the Reeve’s office, weary of possible stakings.

The lashes surrounding Dillon's hazel eyes nearly flutter toward each other at the shameless escape attempt, but he manages not to perceptibly narrow them. And while his own nod, and "Good Evening Madame Yui" are rather more flat than his previous words, they aren't terse. No point in being overly rude.

In contrast, his farewell to Daniella is a real bow, of his head, with a tip of his shoulders as well. "Lady Au Pair Sage, good evening. You are excused, but do feel free to impose upon us at a later date." It's an added touch of humor, letting her know that her presence doesn't impose on them at all, and neither had he meant to include her in his prior statement.*

And yes, Invictus titles flinging. That's an important clue to note.

When Velma makes the introductions, something slides into place in Dillon's mind. Wheels and gears settle into place, like a well-lubed transmission easing into the proper gear. Something that momentarily freezes the amicable expression on his face. It doesn't drop, but for a moment it is forced. His tongue runs experimentally across the front of his teeth... checking to make sure his fangs aren't distended of their own accord.

    That happens, sometimes.

When the Priscus of Succubi begins to further explain the situation, however, the Reeve holds up a gently forestalling hand. It is precisely why he intended privacy. The same hand then gestures for them to continue on. While his hand doesn't immediately leave Velma's back, it politely falls away after a moment, when they are entering the hall.

As they approach the door to his office, he slips forward to open the door, and holds it for the others. "Please," he bids, "make yourselves comfortable."

He is coming to a similar conclusion that Velma already has. She seems to have spotted a tell of his. While Dillon does try to be as congenial as possible, he does tend to lay it on quite thick right as he's about to educate someone, or become otherwise... unpleasant. He'll have to work on that. Keep people guessing.

The door, after it is closed behind the last entrant, is locked.

This will move to a new scene shortly so that Court may for-sure close on the 30th, but we'll try not to stretch it too far beyond that either way.

Sir Baldwin gives a nod of thanks to the Reeve as he offers to let them make themselves comfortable. While Star spun her yarn, he did not speak out of turn. If the Reeve wished to hear the Knights' side of the story, he was sure that Connery would ask.
