Ronnie is shocked at the appearance of the vampire with the axe. This is the first vampire she has seen who is truly disfigured, and horrifying. I have to sleep with that? she thinks, feeling like a deer in the headlights of an oncoming semi. She feels her feet straining to turn around, and in her head she imagines the sound of nails on a chalkboard.
However...another vampire appears, and she relaxes very slightly, as she realizes her mistake. The man with the axe isn't the Prince! Then the full force of Bill Slade's blood hits her, and she looks down so as not to meet his eyes. Ronnie imagines a window ledge, and jumping off of it. She is trembling uncontrollably. Given her past experience with Princes, no one should be too surprised.
In a moment, Ronnie regains a small measure of control. Bill Slade is attractive. She can feel his command, his power. For an instant, she thought, I would do anything for this man. She is surprised at herself, and dares to look up.
Jack was starting to get sick of being constantly being bombarded by Beast left and right, driving him to fleeing like a scared little kid. But it was a good lession for Ronnie so he shouldn't even think of complaining. He managed to keep himself under control long enough for the beast to pass.
"Evening sir." He said, trying his best not to look at axe guy directly in the eye.
The Prince looks over both of the new arrivals. "Mister Bennet, Miss Horton. Please, take a seat." He speaks with a strong, clear voice, despite a very slight Texas drawl. "Tell me what brings you to Reno."
Jack nods as he took his seat. "Nothing much, we're just trying to find a place to settle down." He said simply. There really was no need to suger coat it.
"Not far. Just by Sacramento. Things there are pretty fucked up there. Kindred being hunted down by elder diablereists. Plagues ashing everyone including ghouls except a handful of Kindred, with me being part of that handful. Everyone trying to get their hands on anything lost after the plague which they call The Lost Nights and with hunters lurking the streets...Lets just say Sacramento isn't the safest place to even think about staying for anything more than the short term." Jack said before leaning back in his chair.
