(Patrol) Arden-Arcade Patrol

Posted in the many Elysium Fields of Sacramento is a simple message, typed up and printed out without any flourish or special touch. It's practicality almost making it stand out compared to the ones that went before it.

Attention!

A patrol of the Arden-Arcade area is being organized by Roderick Pearson starting 2 hours after sundown on ____

Feeding prior to patrol is strongly recommended. Opportunities to learn from a 35 year veteran of the US Army Rangers.

Meet at the central lamp post in Gibbons Park, SWW of I-80. The Patrol will include the entire area of Arden-Arcade so vehicles are recommended.

Weapons acceptable so long as they are LEGAL.

Roderick, wanting to be the first to arrive, opted to come as close to an hour and thirty after sunset as he could. Luckily, he was able to grab two meals and a bit of a warm up prior to arriving at the park. This evening he opted for comfort instead of class. Blue jeans, sneakers and a t-shirt is all that he wore, excluding the large bowie knife he wore openly on his hip. He got a few looks from officers, but a friendly smile and a flash of his Ranger tattoo and he might as well be one of the force.

He found the park to be, for the most part, deserted. He could see a few figures wandering around, perhaps homeless looking for a place to sleep, but they didn't keep his attention. He chose a place near a light where he would be visible to anyone approaching to be the spot to wait to see who would be joining him. Though he could already tell that it would be a dull wait.

That was when he took a close look at the nearby trees. A few had some good branches low to the ground. Making sure no one was paying close attention, he climbed up into a tree to a good branch. Using his knife, he whacked at the base of the branch until it gave way and fell to the ground. He followed it soon after. It didn't take long to shave off the smaller branches until he got to the part he wanted. He broke off a length of it and took it with him back to the light, checking again to see if anyone was approaching. With it clear, he set his blade against one end of the length of wood and started shaving off wood.
