Madison made her way to the Lancea chruch in the hopes of running into Mariel. She wasn't sure if the woman stayed there or not, but maybe someone would kno where she could find her at least.
She enters the church and takes a look around. At least the Sanctified had a church here.
"Anyone home?"

As soon as Madison enters the sanctuary, she can tell something is wrong.
The first sign is that the place isn't the least bit lit, even with candles. This is generally not the case.
The second is that there is broken-up stuff right inside the door. She steps on some bits of shattered wood, and looking down, realizes it's part of one of the pews.

What the hell is going on?
Madison immediately reaches for her weapon and slowly moves further into the building. She runs her right hand along a wall, trying to find a light switch.
"Hello? Mariel? Mother Superior? Is anyone here?"

|
At the same time she finds a light switch, Madison finds something less pleasant with her foot. She steps on a piece of wood with a nail sticking up out of it, and when she jerks her foot back reflexively, the wood comes with, the nail having been driven nearly a half-inch through her footwear and into her foot.
With the light on, she immediately notices things are a huge mess here. The pews have been torn apart, literally shattered, the icons and religious symbols much the same. What looks like a blanket hangs against the back wall of the chancel, where previously a large crucifix hung. Madison sees the crucifix shattered on the floor near the altar. She can tell something is on the altar, but can't tell what it is by its shape, and it is covered by a sheet or blanket.
Madison takes 2 bashing from the foot injury - painful but not life-threatening - and will be at -3 to Spd and to relevant Athletics or Brawl skill rolls until it is healed.

Madison reaches down and pulls the nail out of her foot swearing softly as it stings. She tosses the nail ridden board aside. She concentrates for a moment and pushes the blood through her system, sending it to the stinging foot to heal it.
As she slowly makes her way to the altar, she pulls out her phone and looks at it. She doesn't have anyone's number yet. Swearing louder, she reaches the altar and pulls the sheet aside without hesitation.

Upon the altar, she finds the crumbling remains of a body, dressed in tattered clothing. The body continues to decay, visibly deteriorating as she watches. She can see that this body's decay has spread outward from the area of the heart.
Madison knows what causes this effect. It can be only one thing: Amaranth. This vampire has been diablerized, the altar desecrated by this most grievious sin one of the Kindred can commit against their kind.
A wallet, a pistol and a knife lay atop the remains of the body.

Madison leaves the objects where they are, turns and makes her way back through the sanctuary. She stops near the front of the church and looks around for the office, or any other doors that might lead to other rooms. Maybe there is a phone number somewhere in this mess and she can get in contact with someone who might know what the hell to do.

|
|
Madison sees one of the office doors hanging open, the glass shattered, a chair overturned, but otherwise it looks to be intact. Looking around, she doesn't notice anything with obvious phone numbers, save a mortal phone book in one of the desk's unlocked drawers.
