(0908) Autumn Festival

[Bo Albion]

At the Empty Orchestra Karaoke Bar, something out of the ordinary is taking place.

Visitors are greeted by a sign that says "Closed- Private Party". Changelings know enough to ignore this, and are welcome to stroll on in. Inside, the bar has been decorated with colorful autumn leaves, apples, pumpkins, and gourds.

The smell of hot, cinnamon-spiked apple cider is mouthwatering. The caterers have set up a buffet with a hearty beef stew, homemade multi-grain bread bowls, and pies of all sorts- apple, pumpkin, berry. Carmel apples round out the dessert menu. Big tubs filled with ice keep bottles of Woodchuck apple Beer, Octoberfest Ale, and Perrier spring water cool. Every table has a lit candle centerpiece, and the staff are ready to take bar orders and run the karaoke machine.

The Sovereigns have not yet made their respective appearances, but all will be joining the party.

Al-Adin saunters in and sips some hot cider to get his singing voice going. Tonight he's going to sing the song right. "
And then someone tells him about the pie.

Al-Adin is now digging his way through a full pumpkin pie. Mmmmm Pie.

Simon enters the party, looking around. He sighs, partly in relief - because he's glad that Autumn has finally come. Also, partly because of the festive decorations and environment that had been set up. This could have at least waited for Halloween, he figured. The best Autumn events were the scary ones, in his opinion. He would just hate to see the Court of Fear's party become a harvest-themed Spring event.

The smell of cinnamon hits his nostrils, and he inhales the pleasant scent as it mingles with the freshly baked pies and the hot stew. His stomach growls slightly, and he smiles in spite of himself.

I guess this isn't so bad. After all, maybe there will be a good hunt this year.

Simon sets himself up with a nigh overflowing helping of beef stew in a bread bowl, and a bottle of Ale. He seats himself and begins to eat.

[Sam Barkley]

Sam Barkley enters and waits behind the open door, quarterstaff in hand and pistol tucked into his waist. Harry Turkleton, the Summer King, had asked him to arrive early and provide security for the event. The aromas within don't tempt his taste-buds an iota, since he had filled up on a sweet shrub. He nods toward the two Changelings already present, greeting them with a polite, yet aloof, "Hello," and then stands in Perfect Stillness, eyes focused on the door.

Rick arrives not too long after Barkley, and moves almost immediately towards the Woodblood. "Hey, how'd your phone call with Jacob go?"

[Derek Noble]

Derek Noble arrives a bit early, wanting to show some support for the other court. He dresses for the season, wearing black slacks, a burnt-orange dress shirt and a tie with a checkered pattern in various shades of brown, gold and orange.

He hadn't heard whether or not this year's festivities would include a hunt, and Betony Rue had mentioned the possibility, so while he was not armed at the moment, he did have his fencing gear locked securely in the trunk of his car.

[Rust Mane]

Rust enters looking more worn abd dull then usual, though his clothing proves stark contrast. A vibrant red shirt made of silk. Along black trousers and shined black boots.

He nods to his fellow courtier Barkley and moves to stand beside him. "This should be interesting." He says in a voice of ground screws.

[John Gears]

Well, this should be interesting. John though as he pushed open the door to the Empty Orchestra. He was starting to wonder if the Sacramento Lost ever gathered for festivals. Summer seemed to pass quietly which was odd for him. They usually made an effort to get some attention or at least hunt some loyalist bastards.
Off duty mode John, your trying to enjoy yourself this time. He though as he looked over the small gathering and the scent of cinnamon in the air. The food looks good. That was a good sign.

Out of all the Changelings in Sacramento, one felt as though she must be the happiest. It was not because Autumn was her Season, it was just the fact that the Orchestra was hosting the Festival. It was her favorite place. Not only was it the starting point for her adventures with other Lost in town but it was also the place where her friend Derry taught her a little about bravery. and it has karaoke!

Sable arrived as soon as the doors would let her creep inside. The little Changeling even made an attempt to wear something themed, her shirt has a hand print turkey panted on it in Crayola finger paints. Someone at a homeless shelter taught her how to make them last year.

The Orchestra smelled even more wonderful than normal and Sable's little tummy was growling with the ferocity of a small lion. When she entered her eyes fell upon the Karaoke machine and her already delighted mood soared even higher. She had no idea that they would still be running it, she had just hoped she'd get a chance to sing -after- the festivities. Now, she knew she could sing in the presence of all her fellow Lost and it excited her.

Rosyn had laid a dress away and saved her meager spending budget a week in advance. It was a lovely dress; the floral patterns were in shades of brown, yellow, and orange that flowed through the silky fabric and presented proudly on the skirts was a blooming red flower. That was her favorite part, the lonely spot of red in the skirt brightened up the color of the dress without stealing one's eyes from the other fall colors. She looked at herself in the mirror for a long time before leaving. The dress hung perfectly on her soft shoulders that looked as though masterfully carved from white wood. Her hair was unbound, the branches hung low enough to softly scratch at the small of her back and the dry Autumn leaves that clung to them made the dress appear almost as though it was a continuous flow. It looked almost like it may have been a manifestation of her Mien. She wondered morosely if her Mask appeared quite as pretty, not that it mattered, today we celebrate the Lost...

Autumnfire's Dress

When she heard the festival was to be held at the Orchestra she was mildly disappointed. The idea of dressing up the -bar- for something so grand seemed like the wrong approach. So, when she entered she took a very purposeful look at the way the place had been decorated. As her hollow eyes scanned the bar, smells of cinnamon drifted to her, and she felt as though Autumn truly was here now. The decorations pleased her and standing amongst them, still as a tree in the forest, she looked as if she were one of the Autumn props - a statue of a woman with fire colored leaves growing from her hair and flames in her eyes.

[Al-Adin]

Al-Adin looks up from his pie, and spots derek.

"mhe-hmr!" He shouts, before swallowing. "Derek!" he shouts again, this time with significantly less pumpkin pie being spewed from his mouth. He ambled over to Derek.
