The Long Way Home

The Anshega were getting antsy about Forsaken on their Tur and were looking for ways to 'deal' with the intrusion. Thankfully the protection of the Tur and the risk from the Herd seemed to keep them from smashing the Urdaga outright. Unfortunately the streets still carried the odd few couples lovestruck on this Valentine's Day night, and it appeared the Granite Watchtower were not the only ones to be on their way out the door.

In fact, Mr Pinstripe suit seemed ready for round 2.

This scene is linked to the Gatsby's Gangster night, and takes place just before midnight on Valentine's Day. Please narrate yourself out of Gatsby's before joining this thread.

[Princess]

Elaine signals her pack to follow her, all together, immediately on the heels of the others who left the party just before. And directly to where she parked her jeep. Her eyes take in as much information as can be found, as quickly as possible, given the rather likely event of a problem.

[Aeneas]

Aeneas stalks behind his Alpha with a sly smirk on his lips. He still wants to glass Mr. Pinstripe, even though his hands are empty. His eyes dart furiously about, scanning for a possible ambush. All of a sudden, the tall buildings and carefully laid out streets are becoming threatening: sight lines blocked; forced down one of a few paths with many choke points; height advantage to the enemy.

They could be being lined up like fish in a barrel at this minute and they would have no warning, nor a hope of retaliation. If he dwelled on it, the thought could have been maddening.

[Firebringer]

Firebringer walks a bit to the side, constantly scaning the surroundings. As much fun as it might be initially to kick a hornet's nest, one still needed to be prepared when the hornets came calling, and he had no illusions about being able to milk his street cred for another escape.

No, this night was almost certainly about to become very messy.

[Matamune]

Daniel protects the Pack by staying just a couple steps behind, ready to react to anything suspicious. They've spent way too much time at that Tur and he wouldn't be surprised if half the city's Anshega were coming here at the moment, answering that Pack's call.

No words are necessary at this point. There is just instinct and following orders which is just fine.

[Xander]

As the pack made their way to the Ganz mobile Mr Pinstripe Suit stared from near the street with his muscle head buddy standing next to him. He huffs and he starts to walk over, only to be grabbed and pulled back like a hotheaded child. They smoke their cigarettes and Pinstripe pulls out his phone again. He dials someone and contents himself to watch whatever it was he was watching.

Elaine leads everyone through the parking lot, and notices as she approaches her car there are two strange men peaking inside. One of them notices and quickly snaps his fingers to get the other's attention. "Hey there cuz." He smiles and walks right into Elaine's way. When he does a third man looks over and stares. "What are you doing out here?"

The others scattered in the parking lot, three unlucky bachelors and a lovestruck couple go blissfully about their business.

[Princess]

"My friend here wanted to check out the party. But we're done here now. Why, was there something you wanted to talk about before we head home?" she asks with feigned disinterest, hoping at this particular moment that only those of her pack mates with helpful things to contribute would do anything.

Maybe Lilly should charm their pants off. Wait, no, not like that...

[Matamune]

Daniel tenses visibly but hangs back letting Elaine handle the talking. Instead keeping his eyes open for any other men who might be coming. Two, they could probably handle in moments and get the hell outta here but if the other two wolves joined the fight this could quickly turn into a Lunacy and Kuruth fuck-fest which was even worse than it sounded.

It's the middle of the city and we're not in Hisil. Come on, don't be stupid...

[Firebringer]

Firebringer stares at the two men silently, thoughts of the hunt drifting through his mind. And if his eyes just happened to slit, or his teeth to flash for the briefest moment ... well, anything that suggested the strangers might rather be anywhere else couldn't be all bad.

Aeneas paused and his mouth worked. No speech bubbled from his lips this time. Pinstripe had placed himself in his Alpha's way and the Irraka wouldn't make a move until she gave her assent. Anything else would be disrespectful. So he occupied his time by slowly rotating his head to clock where the other wolves and placed themselves.

He didn't particularly like what he saw.
