(Invisible Hands) Grasp

They gathered at noon: the safe breaker, the soldier, the driver and the mystery woman. The little diner was thick with a lunch time crowd and they were overlooked in the hubbub. Over their light meal, they ran over the operation one more time - the soldier had insisted on it; the mystery woman had seemed... distracted... and seemed not to care. The driver had obtained a battered old van for their run, much to the evident relief of the safe breaker and the soldier. The safe breaker spoke sparely but with an animation that none of the others had witnessed before: life was seeping back into the old dog, it seemed. The soldier remained tight lipped about his own preparations.

Meal complete, the group sallied forth from the diner to the waiting van and the driver coaxed it into life. He didn't need to ask directions - none of them did. They had been surveilling the place for weeks, on-and-off. Again, the woman assured them that the job would be over by nightfall. They drive out, walk in, secure the building and track down the vault. When asked, she mentioned that the plans were committed to her memory. The safe breaker and the soldier didn't look that convinced.

It was too late to voice any further complaints, however. The van was already in motion towards their destination: out to the wide fields and open space of Florin...

This plot will be initially open only to members of the Ordo Dracul but that could conceivably be opened to anyone at a later time. For clarity and convenience this story takes a couple of days after the Ordo Meeting. Most especially, I'd like to tag Martha Chrisie Brother Teodore Beej Michael Redfill Matamune and Callum McCann Sabeleth who no doubt get "pinged" when the Chapter House security gets breached.

It had been some time since Aileen had last trained using the physical restraint room, and while she still didn't like it one bit, she had come to admit it was a tested-and-true mean to progress in the mastery of one's Beast. She had already scored a victory over Sobekh thanks to it, but the war was not over by a long shot. Tonight, the Mekhet had planned on a rather short session - think, keeping in shape - using merely light fire and embers, and it was thankfully getting to an end. Mentally exhausted, the Mekhet waited for the Castellan ( Beej ) to come and release her as planned.

The doctor sits in the library, about a dozen books piled up in front of him. He opens one, reads for a few minutes, then writes some notes down and switches to another one. It is just another evening to be buried in Ordo research.

Michael's Porsche is parked outside and he is wearing a dark-grey suit and shiny black shoes.

The crisp black shirt and white skirt Ms. Prieto wore once again seemed almost studious, and she was certainly neat and organized, but as per usual it seemed she had no reluctance to gaze intently into the eyes of the others, peering right into them as though searching for something.

But she couldn't read the secrets of the universe in their irises, so she went ahead and played along with this 'speech' idea again. She seems torn for a moment as to whether her dreamy eyes wish to focus on Teodor or Aileen, tilting her head to one side as she remarks to either or both of them, "I am eager to know, if you please." And there was definitely eagerness for something in her eyes.

It is a quiet spring night. The chapter house stands alone. It might as well be its own little world, independent of the wider cosmos. The building was the Ordo's house; their house. Its wood and brick walls were a comforting womb - a safe place to study, reflect, and be. But not for much longer...

Could I have a [Wits+Composure] roll from those present, please. Given the location of Anabella, Brother Teo and Aileen in and around the Restraint room, I'm imposing a -3 penalty to reflect the impact of soundproofing on their ability to notice something awry.

While she usually kept mostly to herself, Aïleen readily complied with Teo's suggestion. She glanced toward Slave Prieto, but her gaze was too intent for the Mekhet's taste, and she slightly inclined her head so as not to look directly at the other woman.

"Well... to make it short, I'm mithridatizing myself against the Fear of Fire. If you consider it a poison, I'm getting accustomed to increasing amounts of it, and handling it..." did she answer with a self-deprecating smile and a nod to the various sources of fire in the room, from a mere lighter to a torch. removing the last restraints, she was about to elaborate a bit more, when she tilted her head, surprised by some unusual sound.
