Patrolling the West

[Daniel Leto]

Daniel nodded to Green before looking back to the ancient haunted building. He didn't say it but he felt more than just curiosity. There was an unsettlingly familiar sense of duty that bordered on compulsion. His Lady had seen to it that his task had been engrained. He took a step forward almost in a trance before catching himself. Another reason he didn't look beyond the veil often.

He recollected his thoughts and nodded again more deliberately.

"Yeah let's check it out. Once we're inside I'll see about showing you what to look for." With a spot of blood he could grant the Sight but it wasn't something he wanted to do on the edge of the street in broad daylight.

Green bobbed his head. "Sure. Right then." With a careful look about his surroundings, the Elemental moved towards the building. "Eh. Why don't you lead the way on this one. If you, like, got the scent of something. Yeah?" He paused, waiting for the Gravewight to take point.

Grinding the heel of her Doc Martens into the dusty sidewalk, Ramona scowls and shoves her phone back into her pocket. Fucking cowards. The question is, is she stubborn enough to carry on without them? What does she even know about what she's facing. Not enough. But damn it... I'm going in anyway. Why? Well she's got to at least try. Its not like Katie would send her into some sort of death trap without warning. Would she? No, no, she wouldn't. So whatever's in there... it can't be too hard to deal with.

Hiking her backpack higher up onto the one shoulder she's draped it across, Ramona turns and strides deliberately towards the apartment building.

[Parable]

Daniel went ahead of the elemental into the building. Despite the elemental's confidence in him, he felt a little lacking in skill. Most of his experince was with those on death's doorstep. Whatever he felt was stuck just a little beyond the threshold. They couldn't be that different, right? Daniel passed through the door and looked around in case there was anyone inside. Then he made sure no one was coming in that would interupt the contract.

That's when he saw her. A boulder wrapped in leather, with a knife on her hip. She looked to be on a mission.

"There's company," he warned calmly before smiling slightly at the new arrival striding up.

"Evening," he said, greeting her at the entry way.

There was a bicycle locked out in front of the apartment. The raccoon who owned it was just stepping out after finishing a blessedly normal delivery job. There'd been something unsettling about the apatment building. But the feeling paled in comparison to some other places she'd delivered to. The "100% Legitimate" cosmetic-surgery clinic still turned her a little green at the mere thought of its clients.

The new backpack she had over her riding jacket gave her a lot of extra carrying space. First aid kit, duct tape, water, snacks, packages, knives, and the stuff she'd carried as before still fit but at least it was better organized. She even had room for the addition of some camping glow sticks and a odd addition based upon her research work. She now carried around a small tuperware containing 4 ziplock snack baggies. The baggies held ground: white sage, garlic, salt, and pepper. The first three appeared regularly in occult sources as repellents to evil, so the Beast figured better safe then sorry. In tuperware as she found just baggies could get messy. And the pepper...well it came with the salt.

Morgan set about unlocking her bicycle as the others approached. Looking up, she spotted the massive, and familiar, form of a humanoid mountain. The comparitively tiny, pale man with black eyes and the woman in leathers were noticed as an afterthough.

The scatterbrained raccoon rose to wave hello, dropping the key in the process. She quickly ducked down, audibly cracking her helmet on the bike as she retrieved the key. It was a expensive helmet that did its job. Thus, she easily rose up and waved hello: "Heh-hiya Green! How-you-do what's-up?! And...uh..." looking between Ramona and Daniel she went blank for a minute. Yeah they'd met, but those meetings included alcohol and other was summarized a: "hi-have-a-present-bye." So, the Beast admitted her folly: "Um, heh-heh, sorry kinda-sorta not sure on names, eh-heh, and guess-be-likely-wrong, buuuut hello again."

"Well... this is interesting," Green rumbled. A little more loudly, he added: "You might want to hold up a minute, friend. We got some people here." The mountain himself pulled up; under his heavy brows, his eyes danced between the Stonebones and the Steep Scrambler.

"Hey," she says, voice low and flat of inflection, as Daniel greets her. He seems to be in the doorway, so her stride ceases and she stands, bag over one shoulder, looking from him to Green. He's familiar, somewhat. And there's Morgan there, who she's bumped into on a few occasions. Interesting that they should all be meeting here at once. And suspicious. Ramona takes half a step back and glances at her reflection in a nearby window, making sure no one's coming up behind her. Her eyes flick back to Green. Steady. Calm. "What's up, guys?"

Morgan couldn't really make out the details on everyone through the dark. Any chance at guessing the identities of Daniel or Ramona were comlpetely gone now. She was mostly sure about Green being Green by siloutte alone. If she was wrong...well that would be awkward but excusable. 'I'm stupid' was an excuse everyone seemed to believe from her. Which whilst convenient is a little rude.

The lady, probably, wanted to know what was up? Morgan didn't look up, instead just shrugged. "Um, not nothing for me miss lady-person sorry-can't-recognize-in-dark. Heh, j-just work-delivery to place-here-behind me" she jerks a thumb backwards for emphasis. "I-is something here I should know-warned about?"

"We're being concerned neighbours," Green replied carefully. It didn't stop him from allow a small smile to chip its way across his features. Strength in numbers and all that.
